I use (
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) MP3 Tag. My albums are sorted by folder, so I just right click the folder, 'mp3tag', then hit 'freedb'. Took me less than an hour to get everything sorted out.

I'll be signing up for this motherfucker. I've been using (
http://pandora.com/) Pandora for the past few days, and although it's not great I've found at least one band I want to explore some more.

I keep meaning to do this - the problem is some of my music has been renamed (by me) from the natural file name - so my Japanese soundtracks don't have undisplayable characters for their names, for instance. As such it's hard for it to 'match' it.
Edit: Wait, it can apparently detect htem anyway. Yay!
Now I just need to get some new music, since I've listened to everything I have about 50,000 times.

Well we knew you listened to Radiohead all the time...
Anyway, some bitch stole my username so I'm on there as scumblebumble, and a few tracks have been scrobbled. I noted that GBM has also been listening to David Bowie recently...

I remain steadfastly unashamed despite Nightwish featuring alarmingly often (I should probably put all my music on the computer to even things up a bit...)

I'm signing up as Sexy_jake because anything else I tried to think of that was near my name was taken, including jakejakejake.
Trying to work out how to use this thing...

Interestingly enough, it's getting me to listen to music that I haven't managed to listen to for some time, which is good in itself, regardless of the sharing aspect. I've been browsing though everything wondering why I bought certain albums...

A note to iTunes users: you can use Last.fm's plugin+player to upload your played tracks, or the older, slimmer (
http://xurble.org/projects/iScrobbler) iScrobbler for Windows.
Using iTunes, I already have a mind-lolgglingly huge media player, no sense running
two of them just to enjoy some music. Last.fm's .NET player is still pretty nice for sampling some new music, if a bit buggy and bloaty, so you can still install it, and simply neglect to install the iTunes plugin.
And, of course, I seek your fake Web 2.0 friendship: (

Oh, my - apparently all that time I had my visualizer set to G-Force, iscrobbler wasn't operating - so it thinks my second-favorite artist is Nobuo Uematsu and that my favorite song is 'Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday' which is bizarre, as that was nowhere close to my favorite song at any point in history.

I've had mine for way to long scrobbling by itself. Dragostea Din Tai played nearly 100 times and is now my favorite song.
