I found out last night that the driver was doing over 80 mph--so it's going to possible to argue that it wasn't the cellphone use that caused the accident, just speed.
This is a winding, secondary road full of deer at that time of night--wtf is wrong with people?
I drive on a road every morning (pre-6am and pitch black/no lights) a couple of you in Central Ohio may be familiar with: Reynoldsburgh-New Albany Rd. 55 MPH, no streetlights, curvy, and FULL of deer. People ride your ass when you go slower than 65.

I've learned to gently tap on the brakes- not enough to actually slow the car down, but enough to make the brakelights on the rear of my car light up. Always good for a laugh when someone's tailgating you.

One thing to keep in mind is not to equate passing a law with solving the problem.
It can help, but the same invulnerability complex that convinces people theres no way they could have an accident if they have one quick conversation is also going to convince them there's no way they're gonna run into a cop right while they're having that conversation.
In practice, the laws don't always seem to do that much. Its the same way that people are required to buckle up, but still don't much of the time.

It's actually more fun to jam on your brakes and hope for the best.
So you drive like you post, eh?

I'll agree with you all in a second but I know the CD I want to listen to is in my backseat somewhere
This is EXACTLY what the problem is with a disturbingly large part of the population. They don't fucking own an ipod yet:mad:

Ha, I hope the Amazon "Frequently Bought Together" list includes Death and Dismemberment.
