Nah bro, I remember you really liked it and gave it a crazy insane highscore when you first saw it. I'm coming around more and more to accepting individual tastes/likes as being valid even though I think something is poor, or even really poor, but that film was an abomination.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though, or if you corrected adjusted your score at some point.
As to the whole "normal person has a few wacky views" thing - I'm wondering if its a natural behaviour to have a few "out there" ideas. That's for another thread though, along with my "humans naturally have all their needs/desires set on overdrive, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it" theory.

Saw it tonight. It was fun, a little less peppy than all the previous outings and yes, the
the tarzan scene was fairly ridiculous but the most of it was decent adventure fare with more archeology talk than I think we've ever had in an Indy movie.
If I had to list the main cons,
it'd be the lack of comedic timing in a lot of places second half on, really, the first half was good), Marion was underused and had a very muted introduction (plus the backstory was muddy), the father-son dynamic wasn't really explored (after their introduction anyway), the Skull could have used a great theme, the waterfalls and the ending inside the temple was a little over the top (with the vortex thing). The pros were
Indy, the warehouse intro, the nuclear bomb blast (it was fun!), Mutt's 50s switchblade palmade leather jacket motorbiking roughneck character is an unmistakable future version of Indy, the campus chase, the quicksand scene, the jungle chase (at least the first half until the end of the swordfight/ropes), the ants and the various little scenes with traps/doors etc and the hat at the end.Edit: An addendum, except for the Skull not having a compelling theme, the other problem with this McGuffin
(shut up Faf ;)) (I didn't mind the aliens/sci-fi element at all and as Stitch said, it was handled in an unmistakable Indy way) was that the end-conclusion
their treasure was knowledge was just so out of left wing and unconnected with the main body of the plot, I'd almost prefer it if
it had been about upcoming generations lacking the respect of the prior generations, like if the Aliens were pissed at being dug up, separated and then put back together for the purposes of cross-examination by the Ruskies whereas all previous humans feared the living shit out of them (that's just a very weak, made up on the spot example). Plus, if
Indy had been involved at the crash site and had seen some of the crazy shit (electromagnetism, crash wreckage, foreign corpse etc) then surely he could've been a little bit more open minded about the whole affair, because him just 'tagging along' with 'Ox' just got a little bit empty towards the end. Also, I got the feeling that everyone was a little bit tired, worn or perhaps unengaged by the material because some lines that could've zinged right out of the court just fell flat.

The Average
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
This script should have been sunk to the bottom of the ocean in a lead-lined plutonium-irradiated refrigerator in the face of Darabont's script (with a little polishing). Elements of this movie work well, the first half is essentially a brilliant continuation of the classic Indy franchise and it devolves into the usual Lucas farcical proceedings - aliens, monkeys, CGI reliance and a complete degeneration of character in the face of crappy story. Very disappointing.
So... yeah, INSANNNNNNE. :)
Subjective Effect and the Phantom Memory.

I hate it when threads are decided with penalty kicks.

Good to see composure beat the crazy bullshit Brazil was pulling in that second half, they basically knocked themselves out of the world cup. Is Robinho always such a prick, or is this something that comes out more on the big stage?

Go go Netherlands :D
Fuck Brazil! Nothing personal... actually, it is personal. Fuck Brazil. Fuck Sau Paulo and fuck Santos. I never went to Rio but fuck Rio too. Motherfuckers.

Man, that was a really suspenseful match for a Holland supporter. I was on the edge of my seat the whole second half. I'm quite excited right now!
Brazil was clearly better in the first half, it could easily have been 3-0 at half time and I was already starting to accept defeat. But Holland really recovered in the second half and at the end, it could easily have been 4-1 for Holland if we had been less sloppy in the finishing phase of our attacks.
