Now to see how Henry is received... I still haven't really forgiven him for defecting to Barcelona, but he is certainly one of the best and I love to watch him play. Not really expecting much from France v Uruguay -- it seems more like a warm-up than anything else, but we'll see.

Also fuck those vuvuzelas. We've been blowing those at Maple Leaf Gardens for as long as I've ever seen hockey games, and we never gave them a stupid name and claimed we invented them. We call them "big plastic horns" and we just assume they were invented by Mike Palmateer.

I love the sound of vuvuzelas in the morning :cool:

They sure make for a fantastic atmosphere what with those infernal horns. When I think of African culture I think of the impulsive dancing,chanting,singing and exuberance of the people not the blatting of massive plastic horns. Like gbm says..kind of llike watching the nhl.

I fucking HATE them :mad: There's not even a hint of African beat in that incredibly irritating, monotonous buzzing that drowns most of the cheers, singing and other human voices that make a lot of the atmosphere.
But the horns from hell are not so loud in this second game, so I'm hoping it's really bad only in SA games. Otherwise I'll have to watch the games on mute.
