Yep, congrarts to Germany for a well-deserved win. I'm almost glad we didn't get through, imagine what Messi and Tevez would make of that defense :eww:
England need to go away and have a look at themselves. Too many players were poor all tournament, and the ideal that the Premier League was set up for (a successful England team) needs a good look as well.
I'm almost glad England didn't win, I can now watch the games in peace without my flatmates shouting at the tv :D

that goalie denied the goal ever happened just like it was the holocaust
And for a little more history repeating: everybody saw it happen and yet THE WORLD DID NOTHING :tsktsk:
Well, I guess England suffered enough. I would say the Curse of Wembley can be considered lifted.
Just like the TV commentators said: there´s always something special bound to happen in a England vs Germany game.

Brilliant shot by Tevez!

Yet another ignominious exit for England.
Argentina become my team.

There are more than a couple of serious questions to be answered by various aspects of FIFA. I would have preferred it if England had lost 4-2, frankly. That was bullshit.
The US team deserves to at least know why that goal didn't count, even if nothing can or should or will be done about it.
France should not have qualified over Ireland in that way.
I'm just going to squint really hard and try to influence the future so that things end up Netherlands v Japan. And Japan wins. Because fuck this shit, who do I back now? I was rolling deep with England, Mexico, and USA. What now, motherfuckers? What now?
Germans? NBL
Argentina? Might as well back Brazil, you boring piece of shit Johnny Bandwagon.
(*edit: whoops! Not calling you in particular, our Medlar. Although WTF not Argentina, come on :D )
Uruguay is classy, and I'd actually love to watch Brazil v Portugal as a final...
Yeah that would be sweets.
Just for christ's sake let's not have our gran's world cup where we sit through 90 minutes of Brazil and Germany except with a gloriously bored and inattentive vuvuzela or five in the background.
COME ON PORTUGAL! COME ON NETHERLANDS!
Zygoptera on 28/6/2010 at 00:41
On the positive side, at least the shoddy refereeing did not decide (on paper at least) either of today's results. On the negative... the number of bad decisions has passed through ridiculous and is galloping headlong towards surreal, and after a very good start too.
I never thought I'd say the words seriously, but England would have done far better with our defence. I don't think I've ever seen a team in such a chaotic mess at the back. It looked like they had All Black syndrome- utter panic and complete inability to adapt when placed under any pressure at all during a World Cup.

You didn't get enough of them in the first match? Because THAT was the best game in the tournament until now... well, except for about 51 other matches, but who's counting :p
But yeah, I agree about the "quality" of the refereeing - it seems like in every match they either disallow perfectly valid goals or allow invalid ones (like Tevez' first goal in today's game).

Yes, I'd love to watch us play against Brazil again. So that we could, once again, show the world our revolutionary 4-6-0 tactic :p
Too bad Argentina and Germany are already meeting in the quarter-finals. That should have been the final.

I don't care what happens from now on. To me, this is by far the happiest day of this World Cup. Watching England being humiliated in a World Cup at the feet of Germany, with the added extra of a small revenge for the robbery of 1966, is just as good as it gets.
For me we're entering a new period..It's got to the point where England are not merely a joke anymore..you actually feel pity...like a maimed animal that just wants to be put out of its misery.

GBM just take a look at Messi.....nuff said.
