My word, both previous World Cup finalists out at the group stage and their previous finalist coaches refusing to shake hands with the opposition. :nono:
I have a feeling Uruguay will go a long way. Maybe all the way. Japan looked good today. Very fit and willing. There was something weird about that Denmark team though. They seemed stuck in the wrong gear most of the time.

I think I speak for most of Australia when I say, sucked in Italy you cheating pricks!
What a fantastic World Cup for New Zealand though, they've been great to watch.

And quite a few Irish feeling similarly about the French :laff:
quinch, I know what you mean - they reminded me of England when we can't get going, just relying on long balls to the strikers and not able to keep the ball and run with it. Japan clearly deserved to go through instead.
Netherlands looked good again though, and I'm looking forward to Brazil vs Portugal today, even though it's effectively a dead game.

Disappointing 0-0 game from Brazil and Portugal, looked as though they had come to an agreement that whoever won the first half won the match 'cos the second half was dire!!

One thing I was wondering last night watching the dreadful display from Brazil and Portugal was what the fuck is the deal with the nicknames? Is it mainly a Brazilian thing? Why on earth don't they just get called by their actual names?

The best thing about that match was one of the comments during the live feed on the BBC website:
"Portugal vs. Brazil? More like Hull vs. Wigan."
