Field generator for escape pod? Help.

I am confused as to what to do here. I have acquired the Sympathetic field generator and was told by Shodan what to do with it. So I went back to the bay and tried to attach it to the generator but I can't figure it out. I tried to drag it onto the gererator like you do with a charged battery or the other computers earlier in the game but I can't attach it. I am stumped. Can someone tell me what to do here? I was searching for someone who had this problem, and just my luck he figures it out without revealing the solution....

I got the symp. resonator AFTER SHodan's message, and have tried to drop it, like I would drag and drop a battery to be charged, into the shield generator. Nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong, please!

You have to go down the ladder and put it into the piece of machinery that is beside the shuttle.

Umm...isn't the piece of machinery beside the shuttle the shield generator?

If so, I DID mention in my message that I tried placing the resonator into it, just as I'd done with dead batteries into rechargers, but nothing happens.

Anyone known what I'm doing wrong?

It's difficult to see what you're doing wrong. The sympathetic resonator needs to be attached (drag and drop) to the shield generator (the long, low piece of machinery next to the shuttle (not the machine the midwife was smashing up). When you do this the generator starts to glow red and a throbbing electrical sound starts getting louder and louder. At this point you run like your nuts are on fire:o

Yeah, this is pretty odd. Seems you're doing the right thing. Two things crossed my mind: the right shuttle bay (literally):o The generator must be high-lighted before you drop the resonator on it. I think there's some text about it in the 'frame', too. If you've done those, then it must be some kinda major bug. Too bad:(
