Ok, after lots of swimming I found Bal Fell but only saw a bunch of nords wandering all over the place. I've searched the surrounding isle's and their dungeons but I haven't seen Felen Maryon at all. Anyone know where she is?

Ok, aside from this being a shameless self-bump I have a small update ..
I searched all over the bal fell island and found the temple .. pretty difficult inside there but nothing I couldn't handle (came out with a couple nice souls too) .. I thought for -sure- that Maryon would be inside but I STILL can't find her. I've searched every surrounding island including all the dungeons inside. My weapons and armor have almost fallen apart from killing so much stuff and I jsut don't see her.
Does -anyone- know where she is? :erg:

According to the Official Strategy guide (I'm not a thief so I dont know from personal experience), Felen Maryon can be found in his quarters at Therana's Chamber in Tel Branora's Upper Tower. If you dont have the Levitation spell necessary to reach the top section of Telvanni towers Helende should have provided you with potions that will help you.
You can either fight Maryon for the staff or just take it and run. I wont post the reward cause I don't want to spoil it mroe than I already have :)

yup I used one of the levitation potions that she gave me. Anyway just cast an invibility spell and steal the staff its much easier

Ok I declined the offer to get the Ebony staff, but now I need the job for advancement? is there a way to reset her to offer the job again?? I'm stuck.. I can't do anymore jobs for Jim Stacey untill I advance, and can't advance till I do another job??

Id say get the staff and bring it back to her and meantion it to her. I think the dialogue would make her notice and let you advance.
If not, load the editor and give yourself the quest.

Couple of points:* isn't Felen Maryon male?* if you're still having trouble stealing it, there's a handy bookcase/shelf to hide behind IIRC, which is right next to the staff* regarding Thieves Guild jobs - you need to do most of the other guild bosses' quests in order to achieve Captain status. Make sure you've done all of Helende, Aengoth, and Sugar-Lips' jobs before you go see Gentleman Jim. I'd done all the jobs bar about 3 of Aengoth's when I finally advanced to Captain - just keep doing them quests!Good thieving! :)

Felen Maryon is not in Bal Fell, he's in Tel Branora, in Therana's Chamber. You need levitation or a nice high jump to get to him. Can't miss him. His staff is behind him, so I think if you go in invisible and jump over him (assuming your acrobatics is high enough), you can grab the staff, and walk out.

I just crept around him and grabbed it and he never spotted me.
Very easy quest if you ask me.
