does this happen to batteries too? I just played that part and forget to pick up my batteries in the armory. I had almost 20 and it pissed me off to start over again. If it was going to happen anyways it would make me feel better.

It's not a bug, guys. Make sure you search the armory carefully, sometimes you need to pick up the right equipment. For example, if you see 2 medkits in the armory, and pick up one of them, you'll get a different number of medkits if you picked up the other one. Make sure you check the metal shelves, it contains pretty much all the stuff you had before you got captured.
Jeez, I thought you guys are vets or else you would have known already. It ain't a bug, and for Specter's sake, don't cheat.

Trust me, Acidite, I scour the goddamn place, especially the shelves. I always have 15 medkits, since I never seem to need them, so I know that some are singles, and the gear on the metal shelves is mine. The weird thing is, one time I got the sniper rifle from the guard, then picked up one in the armory, and finally mine on the shelf, and had all the mods from the original one. Seems weird that for weapons you can pick up several, but with medkits and such, they're so damn anal. And I'd love to get all my LAMs back....

Hm, I've played this game more times then I can count (6 or 7), and I've never noticed being short anything.

Let's say you pick up one LAM, and later you find a stack that contains the number of LAMs you had before you were captured. If that stack contained the max # of LAMs (10), then you wouldn't be abe to pick them up. It is annoying, but all you have to do is drop the one LAM and pick up the stack.
All your stuff should be on the shelf, but I'm not sure, sometimes they might be somewhere else. All that I know is that I never had the problem you were describing.

All the times I've played it, I've only found two LAMs in the armory -- one on the shelves, and one in the box near the gun rack. I always pick up the one on the shelves first. The same holds for grenades of other types -- only one EMP, one gas, and one scrambler, no matter how many I had when I surrendered to Gunther.
I can't say this has ever bothered me since there are plenty of LAMs and other grenades to be found later in the game. But it is curious that some folks get their full inventory back. Maybe it's a hardware thing.
Acidite on 5/8/2002 at 14:43
Well, I just played through again to confirm this and it turns out that you DON'T in fact get all your grenades. I only found 2 LAMs also, which is really weird.
So I stand corrected. It's just that I hadn't played DX for awhile prior to posting that. Now I see the problem everyone seems to be having.
Although I could've used a lot of explosives when I tried clearing out the Ton...

How pretentious can you get?

I always respawn my grenades to get them back. You definitely always get all your multitools, lockpicks, medkits, and 'batteries' back.
BTW, did anyone know you can get out of UNATCO HQ area onto the island without cheating? All you do is pick up an ammo crate from the lower levels. Bring it up with you, and use it to get through the gates (you need to be ducking to get through the hole, so I think that's why using the speed aug can't just be used. I forget. Either than or you have to do this with a box and fully charged speed aug, in which case you can only do this the second time. Unfortunately, you can't get up to the top of the statue to get the LAMs because there's no internal structure to the statue.
