Not bad, but you guys really need to cheat on your girlfriends and do more drugs.

Decent, but, as stated by others, there was nothing outstanding. I hate to say this because it's such a cliched criticism, but it felt "safe." It was as if you guys weren't going to take any chances, and wanted to create something friendly, and (sorry) a bit hackie in hopes of appealing to an audience.
Take for example, "Rock and Roll Ain't Pretty"--how many times has that theme been explored? "Shameless"--yet another apology song.
I know you said that you are guys are trying to figure out how you get along playing together, trying to find what clicks. But, you well never "find yourselves" and become a band that works if you don't begin making your own music.

We honestly didn't set out to do that, it just happened to be the music we were interested in making at the time. :) We weren't trying to play safe, but this was just the music that came out of us at the time. I think there is an expectation, that if you're a rock band you have to shake your fist at the sky and blame the world around you. For me, at least lyrically, I prefer to turn inward and accept the blame myself. I know it's not cool, nor is it particularly gutsy, but it's who I am...and being honest is my primary goal. I'm ok with safe.

Absolutely, I agree on both counts, but on the other hand...they are themes that continue to resonate throughout all our lives. Everyone has a story. There are tons of other themes out there to explore, but you have to explore themes that mean something to you personally.
Not defending the choices, just explaining them. Saying something and meaning it, is just as important in the scheme of things.

I honestly feel that this is our own music, it's the music we wanted to make. Of course, under the circumstances on TTLG...we have a much larger variety of music to be compared to on a global scale. For us, we had to consider where we were physically located....and how we would survive locally. There aren't really any bands in our city who make music like ours, it's either laid back jam band grooves, pop 40 tunes, heavy metal, or dance music...but nothing that sounds like us. So, we sought to fill a void within our own little corner of the world. The kind of music we would like to hear bands playing in our city...yet don't.
Someone told me a few days ago that they really didn't get our music the first time they heard it, but upon subsequent plays she started to hear a lot of layers...both musically and lyrically.

Fair enough, if this is the music you intended on making.

Yup, and again..it's not a defence of our choices...just an explanation of how and why the music came out the way it did under the circumstances. No doubt, if we expand to play outside the confines of our location...and we intend to...this will have a huge impact on the music.

I'll buy a copy of your CD if you release a version of The Minimalist Project with third person fixed and fatiguing restored. I'm being deadly serious.
This offer still stands.

Sorry, I won't be bribed into releasing a Minimalist package that goes against my intent for the project. Aside from that, it has been a few years now and it would require having to relearn T3Ed in order to figure out how to put the fatigue back in on all the characters. You do realize that the overweight characters still get fatigued, right? I didn't eliminate it completely.
As for third person, you really don't need me to fix that, anyone can do it. I can't remember the file name, but there is an .ini file....maybe t3playercamera or something like that, and it contains the settings for the player camera.
Compare the minimalist version to the original, put the third person stuff back in, and remap your third person button in the control screen. Should work again after that.

Congrats NH, always feels good to be nominated for awards (even better when you win them!).
I listened to your album a week or so ago when I saw it on your profile on TDM forums. Good stuff, mostly to mimic whats been said before. Nothing blew me away but well played, good music.
