Shell companies: an entity whose primary purpose is to be in debt so others don't have to, and therefore the best way to go bankrupt if something DOES go wrong.

What is even more amusing about the IRS and regulations, is a couple of items on the taxes due.
I disremember the specific item ## in the list, but if you are a THIEF and steal something, you are required to file a statement of the value of what you have stolen, and pay taxes on that amount, unless you return, or have returned the stolen item(s).
What kind of freaking idiots are running the IRS and what band of mental midgets are writing the information for the various "Schedules" you are supposed to file.

Close but not quite. You're mixing up the discount window and treasury bills.
It's not surprising given that I don't know what discount window bills are...
Your explanation was somewhat enlightening though. Still seems unecessarily complicated, but then some people are making obscene amounts of money by playing with all these financial wotsits.
I'm going to start sounding like GBM if I carry on like this...

Sounds like it's classing theft as a valid form of income in some twisted way. Either that or some bored IRS clerks are taking the piss.

Sounds similar to the "Are you now, or have you ever been a member of a terrorist organisation" question on immigration forms.

Hehe, Should have written that "treasury bills and the discount window."
The 'discount window' is simply means through which the banks borrow money from the Fed.

"Are you entering the US to engage in immoral activities?"

They actually borrow money over a few days in some cases and pay it back, don't they? The sums are so large that it's enough time to make something (well, quite a lot) from it I suppose.
