Well, there is a way to make tons of money...or a few, really.
1) finding petty soul gems in the crates/boxes/barrels around towns like Balmora, then buying, or better yet, finding some soultrap scrolls, which shouldn't cost too much. then go fight kagouri/Alits and steal their souls. The new soul gem should be worth 200-250 per. though that is the slowest way.
2) steal, or otherwise acquire other, better soul gems (such as from the mage's guild quest in Balmora (I snatch them all BTW)), and repeat the process above, or if you are a mage (or have the appropriate scrolls from loot) SUMMON a beastie (ancestral Spirits are a good starter) then soul trap them and slay them. Atronachs usually yield around 8K per, while others like bonelords and such are considerably lower.
3) solve the murder of Ralen Hlaalu and speak to the Hlaalu woman in the council building over and over again, for 1k each time: unlimited. though that is a bit dishonest..heh
Ehh Monkii, Kilana isn't an idiot. But Kilana was wrong.
With a short blade spell, you can make enchanted items, HOWEVER, by the time you find all those bloody rotten sanguine items, you'll probably be so far progressed in the game that well, you won't really NEED to enchant(due to the difficulty etc)

Oh, I didnt know if you turned in all those items to the leader you'd get a fortify skill spell... probably would have if I didn't hate the morag tong and not do any of their assignments.
