My favorite bit was Jared Leto he's a dream boat.

Aragorn (I loved his reluctant hero attitude)
Boromir (he tried so hard to be honorable)
Samwise (loyal when others would have just cut & run)
Elrond (his mind fascinated me)
Merry/Pippin (great comic relief)
Legolas/Gimli (interesting study of an unlikely friendship)
Eomer (he had great legs)
Galadriel (who, if you've read Silmarillion, had quite a history & could have been considered the 'Bad Girl' of elves when she was younger)
In the book, Tom Bombadil kind of puzzled me. Still haven't figured out who/what his character represented. God, maybe (he'd been around longer than all the other characters according to his claim)? I think Peter Jackson could probably do a feature length film on Tom Bombadil alone.

Actually I want to change my vote to Shelob as well.
The animation of that thing was amazing.
