Favourite and most hated NPC's...... - by Jordana

So, who are your favorite NPC's in Morrowind? And your least favorite? I'll go first :)
Favorites:
Crassius Curio-I don't care what anyone says, I think he's really funny. Especially when he says you've made him the happiest man in Vivec after you kiss him!!
Ajira-She's got a lovely sweet fuzzy-wuzzy kitty face and I enjoyed doing her quests. I especially liked her bet with that horrible Wood Elf upstairs, and the cunning way she takes credit for the work you did for her (i.e. collecting ingredients)
Vivec-I know a lot of people don't like him, and there have been loads of threads on how to kill him, but I think he's cool. He looks weird at first but I've learned to appreciate his particular brand of exotic, androgynous beauty. I also like his mega powerful fry-anything spells.
Foxy Helseth-Miaow! ;)
Molag Bal-nicely scary and evil-looking, especially with those wicked claws and rumbly voice.
Nibani Maesa-has a nice smiley face, one of the few non-annoying female NPCs.
Divath Fyr-has a great attitude.
Hated:
Fargoth-surprise :erg:
Almalexia-bitch!
That obnoxious Nord woman who strides arrogantly round Balmora demanding that you "Speak up!" Well, I should say "strode", seeing as how I taunted her into a fight then slaughtered her.
Anyone else? :)

Fargoth never really bothered me- I don't understand why everyone hates him so. But the aspiring actor who lurks around the Argonian enchanter's shop in Vivec's Foreign Canton is very irritating when he says in that poncy voice 'What is it regarding?'
I agree that Vivec is very beautiful (though I still prefer an Uruk-hai! :p).
I still think Almalexia is a psycho (but she bestowed 5 pages of replies to date!)
I liked both Divayth Fyr and Baladas (in Gnisis)
There must be others. Oh yes, Barenziah! She was cool.

Hmm, I think my favourites are also my most hated (go figure). As long as they captivate my interest for a long time, it doesn't matter how I feel towards them, they're still memorable NPC's. And they are:
Caius- not a bad boss, especially with his skooma problems, at-ease dialogue, and perfect hiding place (the head of the Empire's spy order lives in a one room shack without a decent weapon or shirt?!! I think he's taking this whole undercover thing a bit too far... but, then again, it was a big surprise the first time I met him. I was expecting a much more spy like... er, spy).
Berel Sala- such an underused character I have never seen before. The head of the Ordinators should really have been more invloved in the story, especially what with all the Nerevarine-persecution thing. He's still a real interesting guy though (never mind that he looks like the least likely person in Vivec to head the Ordinators). Where's the fanaticism?!!
Shoegorath- send me to kill a netch will you? At the other end of the world, eh? With a rusty fork? Finally, a guy I can relate to!! :D
Dagoth Ur- of all voices they could have given this guy, it had to be that of an Imperial trooper! And I'm still supposed to believe he's against the Empire?! ;) Other than the voice, he's a fairly good antagonist. Nothing too original no, but there's a lot of depth to him. Would have been cool if there was a plot twist at Red Mountain and it turns out that he was Nerevar all along, trying to free his people from the Tribunal who (almost) murdered him, and that the player character is nothing but an not-so-average Joe who Azura was using to kill Nerevar who wasn't acting to her will. Or something like that.
Baldas- as well as Aryon and Fyr, these crazy Telvanni not only came with the best quests, but were also way more laid-back and unpredictable than a lot of other boring NPC's.
Rollie the Guar- without a doubt, the wisest NPC in all of Morrowind! :D
Elwin (Indoril Nervar)- my second character, without a doubt the meanest and most world weary Dark Elf I've ever see. A true Telvanni if there ever was one, and owner of more than 2 dozen complete outfits, each as stunning as the last. His ego is eclipsed only by my own, and I challenge you to find a more arrogant example of Narcissism.
Mithras- first character, a well fed and way too happy Wood Elf who can always be found strutting around Balmora in his trademark outfit: a brown vest and green scarf, imported purle gloves, and lavish glass boots with which he will (try) to stomp on all those who oppose his night-time thieving habits. :D
and last... everybody's favourite forest harrasser...
Fagoth!... oops, I mean, Fargoth!! Long live the greatest newbie terrorizer who ever set foot on Vvardenfell! :D
And now I think I'm done... I hope I'm done.

NPC's I like:
Vivec, Divayth Fyr, Karrod, since he was a reference to a bug in Daggerfall. Jobasha :D
I didn't really like Helseth -
he kept trying to get me killed!
Almalexia

Oh yeah, Helseth keeps trying to have you killed, but I can forgive His Lusciousness-I mean Majesty-just about anything ;)
Karrod is a Daggerfall reference? I'm curious, could you expand on that?
Glad other people like Vivec. There are so many threads on elderscrolls.com about killing him :erg:

I think it's the bug eyes, the squeaky voice, the runty physical appearance, the inane chirpiness........:) One of my most treasured Morrowind memories is of using the console to summon 20 Fargoths, then setting Vivec on them all. Pure gold
I like Caius as well, thought it upset me when he abandoned me just as things were starting to get tough. I really hope he comes back in a future expansion or something.....I haven't met Berel Sala yet, but from what Vivec says he sounds interesting. I agree that Rollie the Guar is cool :)

Hmm, I post a message mentioning foxy Helseth and we end up talking about the sexual attractiveness of Orcs.....now where has that happened before? Ania, I think you're trying to corrupt this thread! (keep it up!)

I'm sure you've been to Castle Wayrest before. You would have noticed a kid standing there with a sword (See Unsolved Mysteries on the Essential Site that talks about the Wayrest Kid, here: (
http://12.145.63.45/~crodo/unsolved/df/people.html#wayrestkid) ). If you clicked on him to try to enter a conversation, all he would do is moan.
Helseth talks about Karrod and how a deaf and mute kid was wandering around Wayrest castle and he was enlisted as one of his guards. That's the witty reference to the kid in Daggerfall (And it explains the 'bug') !!! :D

My favourite NPC's:
Caius Cosades - He was like a father to me. Especially since the PC probably never knew his parents.
Dram Bero - He lives in a Haunted House, and has a large collection of cool weapons.
All the Telvanni councillors/nobles (Aryon, Fyr, Baladas, Therana etc.) - They all had distinct personalities that set them apart from other NPC's, and they gave you fun quests.
Vivec - The sane, non-psychotic face of the Almsivi.
Yagrum Bagarn - Poor guy. I always felt sorry for him.
Dagoth Ur and the Ash Vampires - I'm not sure why I like them, but I do.
Least Favourite: I have nothing against Fargoth, but I really, really hate his unholy brother from hell, Gaenor. For those who don't know, Gaenor is an oportunistic Wood Elf you encounter in front of the Temple in Mournhold, in the Tribunal expansion.
He begs the PC for 50 drakes, then makes progressively higher demands for gold, always promising to pay you back. Ultimately, no matter what I did or how much gold I gave him, he always eventually got really angry at me and refused to speak to me. I though that was the end of him. How wrong I was....
