Where I come from, there's a lot of love for Shiner Boch.
It's hard to find outside of Texas.
Oddly, the last time I ran into it was a corner shop in Hong Kong. Go figure.

I'll drink a Shiner for you tonight, demagogue. :D
I have to jump on the Sam Adams bandwagon. The Boston Lager is such a flavorful beer. I have this problem where after I have one I feel like I just can't stop with just the one, so I drink another.
I have to add to the Fat Tire love too. Actually, I enjoy most of New Belgium Brewery beer. They have a seasonal beer called 2 below that's very yum.
Lastly, even though it's not that time of year, I think the Mexican beers are great summer drinking beer. Especially in my part of the world because it gets so blasted hot and I find the mexican beers refreshing. Specifically "XX" and Pacifico although I wouldn't turn a Modelo away.

Guinness is the way to go. On tap. The extra-stout is a bit harder, but not nearly as good. Try an Irish Car Bomb, if you do it right it's damn tasty. (layer Bailey's and Jameson's in a shot glass, drop in your pint of guinness and scull!):thumb:

In my little corner of the globe we have (

Doing things their own way. As they say "Off-centered ales for off-centered people."

If any of you in Europe can get your hands on (
http://beerme.com/breweries/gm/he/2556.shtml) Licher Beer, I'd highly recommend it to you. The Pilsner is to die for. My Oma lived close to this brewery, and I fell in love with this beer. Best served about 13 degrees C or 55 F. I could go for some of this right about now. Kolya, send me some Licher bitte!

Inline Image:
http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en-commons/thumb/f/f7/150px-VB-stubbie.jpgVulgarBeer. It's a coarse-arse lager masquerading as a bitter ale. It's domestic, disposable and damn delicious after work. Bugger bloody boutique beers, just bring me a bloke's brew.
Getting into Boags' Draught, a similar beer made in Tasmania and a lot smoother and cleaner-tasting. Starting buying it because my housemate's guts react badly to the (no doubt uranium-derived) preservatives in VB. Boags' is close enough that if you just open the bottle and rub the mouth of it in the sweat behind your nutsack you end up with something akin to Veebs.

i just finished a Shiner Bock (actually spelled with a k). Not bad stuff, but i've been drinking it since high school, and it used to seem to be better (or maybe it was better when it was illegal). Rumor has it that it was bought by a big wig company at some point and that's when it went down a notch (but again, this is from friends who drank it with me way back when, so take it for what it's worth).
Anyways, at your average US restaurant i go for Guiness. For the trip to the local supermarket/beer store where there won't be a ton of speciality variety:
* Sierra Nevada
* Newcastle
* Red Hook
* Negro Modelo
* Pacifico
* last, but not least, Corona (not the light, just the reggie)
Some of those may run you ~8.50 a six or so, but they're not bad. Me, i still grab Shiner Bock because it always runs on sale for around ten bucks for twelve around here, and it's not half bad.
