That would be overpowered, the 30 seconds delay is because the devs didn't want you to have the patience to fill up your health every time you run low. The main attraction of the implant for me is the immunity to toxins.

I find running backwards like the ninny I am stops the spiders biting me. :p

The arachnids still hurt ya like hell when they bite, the poison simply doesn't affect you.

Again, I find running around like a ninny backwards shooting them tends to avoid me getting poisoned. Or even walloped by a rumbler.

It's maybe because this game is not all about direct assault and confrontation, but strategic thinking, dodge and avoid them.

I kill everything I encounter (if it's not impractical), mostly with melee weapons though.

Awww, but shooting things is so much fun-especially when said shooting is done with high explosives. n.n

Yeah, and it helps that the explosion sounds of SS2 are wonderful to hear. Good weapon sound effects are always welcome.

My favorite to play as is Navy, but OSA is the coolest.
Psi in general is harder than hacking, but more rewarding and more fun.

Marine, for sure!
I have yet to play the game as an OSA operative.
