Why in the whole world are there only books 2 and 4 of the Argonian Account? Everyone has book 2 or 4 or both, but no book 1 or 3 to be found anywhere.
1 & 3 are in the game, but since they give a skill bonus while 2 & 4 do not they will be much more rare.
My favourite book so far is "Advances in Lockpicking", you should be able to find it in the Cheydinhal book store.

Quite a few of the Morrowind books were from Daggerfall as well. There were more original books in Morrowind than Oblivion though.

Yeah, that's true.
For pretty much ALL books and texts from all the Elder Scrolls games, visit the Imperial Library!

book one of the argonian account is in game as well, I have 3 of the 4 volumes in my leyawin estate. And my favorite book has to be the lusty argonian maid. My second favorite is the book of clever witticisms to be told by nobility- I forget what it's called- but it's in the house of the orcish nobleman you encounter in the fighter's guild story arc

Ah, neat link, Komag - though I still prefer to collect all the books in-game, for some weird reason. Oh, I just went and bought a copy of Advances in Lockpicking too. Good stuff! ;)

Favorite books would be The Real Barenziah, and Barenziah's Biography.
Made me think for a few minutes - presumably, The Real is correct, but I think it's neat that they would write two competing accounts of the same events. As well as weaving in the background to one of the earlier games (Arena, says the Imperial Library).
I love all the books; need to collect some more. Bought a nice, big house, but I'm going to be very disappointed when I try to put my books in a bookshelf - I want them to look right, and I can't manipulate them well enough.

I really like 'The Red Kitchen Reader'. It is a skillbook, so you can only find it one place. Slow start, but boy! when you reach the end... Very, very funny, in a rather macabre way. It's up on TIL.
I have checked the books out in the CS, and there are many new books; they are just very rare for the most part.

The problem with books in oblivion is that they're a real pain to get lined up on a book shelf. Rather than having to rely on the quirky physics to place items book shelves should be containers that intelligently display their contents.

lol, you guys should have bought some damn interior decorating sim. I just rush in, throw a bunch of shit on the floor (a la Campaignjunkie) and go back to the killing.
