This gun was supposed to be available on a shelf in Strelok's Stash. But I ransacked the place a while back and only now find out about it. So I went back and couldn't find it. I very well could have picked it up and later discarded it without knowing it's advantages.
Here's the question....when you point to it, does it SAY "fast-shooting" or is there some way of telling you have this particular item.
Never mind...I picked up what I was told was an ordinary Akm 74/2 on the floor in Strelok's, but when I checked the description in Inventory, it was classified as the fast-shooting variety.

All modified weapons are supposed to have a special mark - white arrow in green square.
Anyway, in the line of modified weapons OC14 Thunder 5.56mm is my choice :) But I don't remember where I got it.
PS: Plus Vintar as secondary weapon.
Pity that only AKs, AN94 and LR300 can be modified by user.

If you mean what I think you mean then you are thankfully mistaken. AFAIK, you can create a modified version of any weapon and then place it in the game in stashes and traders (you can probably put them in other places though I don't know how). I know I've done it with the MP5 and AK74 and I'm sure I've read about people modifying other guns. I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to - there's a modified version of most of the weapons in the game and all it requires is adding in a few lines of text to various gamedata files.

I think he was referring to modifying it in-game, and not through file editing.

Yes, I don't use mods except "bug fix attempt", and only 3 models of weapon are modifiable by default.

Do you mean adding sights/silencers/nade launchers? Because you can add a nade launcher to the Sig550 and silence most of the pistols. It's been a while since I played an unmodified version of stalker, so I guess I forgot how few weapons supported addons.

Adding a silencer, scope and/or a grenade launcher to a gun. You can only do it with a few weapons though.

I tried SIG550 - grenade launcher didn't attach (M203).
It attaches only to one weapon - LR300. Soviet one - only to AK74(u). As for silencers you may be right, but I mostly meant launchers and scopes.

I never use silencers. I actually don't know if the realism of the game goes as far as making the silencers affect the weapon's accuracy, but I always have a tendency to think that it does. Plus, I love the sound of my Groza :)

Didn't you find Groza 5.56 or modded VLA(VAL) with a scope by chance? I heard the latest is the best weapon in the game.
