Just processing the sad but inevitable news that James Earl Carter, the 39th President of the United States Of America, has died after just over a century of service to his country and the world.
(
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/chalk-river-nuclear-accident-1.6293574) Jimmy Carter had a special place in the hearts of Canadians, coming to our aid during the world's first nuclear accident.
In 1952, when a Canadian reactor had a meltdown in Chalk River, Ontario (180 km from our national capital) Navy Lieutenant Carter led a team of specialists to address the threat. Working in ninety second shifts, they shut-down, disassembled and replaced the damaged core.
Thank you for your sacrifice, courage and friendship, Mr Carter. In this time of tyrants and criminals, domestic and international, your decency and humanity will be missed.

I feel like all the good people are getting out while they can. I know that is just a feeling of abandonment and not a worthy thought. It is none the less sad and the world will miss them much more than those who seem to survive way past their due date. Carter was a good man. Nobody can take that from him. I hope others will come along who can replace them before we go full oligarchy.

He's one of those icons whose good works and good intentions are so clear, any cynicism or accusations against him just can't stick. It's a good principle to live by. Be so good that nobody can deny it. I hope, like some notable veterans get fly overs by fighters in formation at their funerals or memorials, that Jimmy gets a formation submarine cruise under. Fair winds and following seas, Jimmy. <3

Rest in Peace, Carter.

"It was so obviously God's punishment that he missed out on 2025 by 2 days. If he'd voted for Trump he might have lasted longer!"

What moron said that? He was the very embodiment of what a Christian should be.

So long Jimmy, we'll miss you dearly, good age anyway, a 100 years, wow.

Searching that quote doesn't show any sources. I suspect it is LordBooford doing the cowardly, Trumpian, "people are saying" schtick when it's actually his own execrable words.
He's welcome to prove me wrong. Still doesn't make posting it here any less vile.
Sorry, Jimmy. You deserve a lot more respect than that.

LordBooford. Your post contains a stinking orange turd. Be a good boy and clean out your shit.

I'm guessing it was supposed to be a joke, but it certainly isn't funny.
Jimmy Carter was the greatest humanist and public servant I have seen in my lifetime. He was an extremely intelligent and driven workaholic who could have made billions in industry if he had been interested in chasing money. It's very rare to find people like that who aren't egomaniacs.
