Fun fact: elephants crave human blood.
Great that you can ride them as well

Just like E3, we came away from our Far Cry 4 GamesCom demo feeling thoroughly impressed by Ubisoft’s upcoming title. The graphics are some of the best we’ve seen so far and the gameplay in the main missions is just as strong as Far Cry 3, but with more finesse.
The odd blend of more traditional storyline-based combat missions combined with the mythical will provide an interesting gameplay experience in Far Cry 4. But it’s one we’re inherently intrigued by.

Well it's out! Anyone playing it yet?
Now, should I buy it on PC or PS4? It's pricier on PS4, but my PC is 5 years old this christmas. Does this thing run as well as FC3 on PC?

Don't forget about the superiority of mouse aiming for FPS games.

It's kind of strange that consoles still haven't addressed that after so long.

Actually I used a gamepad when I played FC3 on PC, and will likely use one again for FC4 no matter the system, so that's not a factor.

Well I got it for PS4 and I've been playing it for most of the weekend. Kind of a rough start, feels like the hardest difficulty in this is harder than FC3's. I was empying entire submachine clips at wolves with little effect and getting attacked by eagles a lot early on and NOT HAVING A GOOD TIME. Lowered it to Normal and started enjoying the game a lot more. Tho I think it's also largely because my skills were a bit rusty and I hadn't unlocked the good weapons yet. Feeling more confident now, might turn it back up. Played a whole bunch today and didn't even touch the story missions, which is the mark of a good open world game. Also did a bit of co op last night, which was fun. Unlike FC3's dedicated co op campaign, this one lets you roam the open world and do sidequests and stuff, and it's seamlessly integrated into the SP. Here's a video of some of the stuff I've been getting up to so far:

As for what I'm not enjoying: the story, mainly. It's all dramatic handwavey stuff that's so cliched it's making me want to not care about any of it. And when you're driving around the radio is all propaganda which is as trite as it is repetetive. A "disable Radio DJ" option under audio settings would make the driving immensly more enjoyable.
