Aw man, I literally had that exact idea for a rock climbing game, same exact mechanics, about a year ago and never did anything with it.

Heh, well the guy behind Vertigo didn't do much with it either, just that one-level demo. I mailed him a while back and asked if he was still working on it but haven't gotten a reply. Since the demo is from 2010 I'm guessing it's dead. You still have time to making your climbing game, nicked! It's definitely a niche waiting to be filled. I'd play it. :)

I'm betting the rope isn't the issue, it's the person climbing it. Vertigo pretty much just had a straight wall with regular sized handholds, from the look of it. Animating that versus animating rock climbing over actual uneven rocks with protruding sections and not having it look like ass has to be a pain.

I know from watching Project Reality videos that the mod has had a grappling hook for years. It seems to give attacking squads an extra degree of freedom.

Far Cry 3 yes, but was there outcry over Far Cry 2? I don't recall it being racist; the message was more "All people are shit".

You could say that FC3 played up to a few stereotypes, but calling it racist? That's a bit strong.

This shit is just getting ridiculous. Do people really have to be so overly sensitive about everything all the time?

That's fucked up.

For one, looking at that guy, I couldn't figure out what nationality he's supposed to be.

Secondly, homophobic? Doesn't deciding he's gay just by looking at his suit without knowing anything else about him mean you're kind of prejudiced at the very least, and should shut up about it?
