Bought this the other week and, Christ alive, what a buggy fucking piece of shit. Can't save games. Game is letterboxed. Ubisoft have had months to fix these issues. I can't even find an acknowledgement from them that they even exist.

Has anyone played the DLC? Any good?
The season pass is €10 in the PS Store right now. Looking very tempting.

I'm still waiting for FC4 to go on sale. While I thought FC3 was one of the best games of the year when it was released and I'm sure that FC4 is worth the full price, I'm surprised that it hasn't featured on any the sales since its release (well not at a significant discount anyway). I think I'll wait out a little longer to see if it gets put on the Summer Steam sale.

I'm struggling to enjoy FC3, actually. It seems like a sort of island-wide murder fete, chock full of engineered distractions but all of them leaving me with a lingering feeling of being a little shortchanged once I'm done. Weirdly enough, most of this stuff was in FC2 at a prototypical stage, but now that it's all marked and delineated and painted in within the lines, I feel overcome by a sense of ennui at it all.
I just want to move on with the narrative, but it's full of blockheads for allies and cliches for plot points, and the only interesting person in the whole thing - Vaas - isn't given much chance to chew the scenery. It's worth noting that I'm at the second time I've escaped Vaas, so probably not too deep into the story yet. I'm not enticed by the graphics, so exploring swathes of lush tropical expanse that seem the same as the last five square miles but with a couple of differentiators dotted on the map doesn't compel me at all. Should I give up or hold out in the hope that there's interesting stuff coming up?

Well without wishing to spoil the story, it never succeeds in it's intentions of being deep and meaningful, and it ends up going completely stupid by the end. Once you've got the wingsuit and mucked about with it for five minutes, you've seen everything of interest the game has to offer unfortunately.

Yeah FC3 is not worth playing for the story. If you're not feeling the gameplay then you have my blessing to stop playing. :p
Shame, I was hoping you'd enjoy it more, Sulph. I was considering getting FC4 on PC as well once it's dropped far enough in price and cajoling my mates into some co-op madness. The co-op really is significantly better than in FC3, since it lets you roam the whole open world, it gives you the wingsuit right away, and stealth is much more viable than in FC3 co-op.
Sulphur on 23/11/2015 at 08:44
Thanks, both of you.
henke: I wouldn't mind that. As we know, co-op really does make everything better. I don't even regret buying Aliens: Colonial Marines!

I might be up for some coop fun as well; the game's lying on my Shelf of Unplayed Games, and TTLG coop is always great.
(Up to the moment when henke walks up to you and hits you in the face. That shit smarts, bro!)

I enjoyed FC3 right up until the point when I'd completed all of the hunting missions. After that, it all got a bit monotonous.
henke on 25/11/2015 at 08:39
Good to hear that, Sulphur and Thirith. I'll keep an eye out for FC4 in the next Steam Sale! :)
btw, bought the Season Pass on PS4. Will try to finish FO4 before I get into it tho.
