I got 9 of these things called Keys to Kyrat which are like 2 hour Far Cry 4 trials. Anyone here on PS4 and want to try this thing out, PM me your PS4 name and I'll send a key.

I'd like one thanks Henke. Btw that invite you sent me earlier in the week went to my son's account rather than mine for some strange reason.

Y'know, this drives me nuts. Far Cry 2 is one of my favorite games, and if it were open to mods, it would have become the Morrowind of its kind. Instead, it's a closed box experience that can't be modified. Not very much, anyway. Looks like they're still taking a mod-unfriendly posture on the series in general.
(And no, I would not have removed jamming weapons or malaria.)

It's done. Finished the main campaign. There's a whole bunch of different ways it can end, but I liked my choices, chose Amita as the new leader, and let Pagan fly off into the sunset. That guy is just too entertaining to kill.

I opened one of my Christmas presents early and incurred negative karma because this game basically doesn't run after about 30 minutes. The 1.5 patch introduced a (
http://steamcommunity.com/app/298110/discussions/0/624076851303764770/#p4) memory leak that will likely make the game unplayable after a certain amount of time.
If you do buy FC4, don't let Uplay/Steam update it to 1.5 yet or you will be a sorry honey badger.

I'm with you on the 1.5 update, Slasher, but I don't see how I could've avoided that update as Uplay pretty much did it without giving me a choice. Before the update my FC4 ran just fine and I was in Far Cry heaven. Then came 1.5 and since then if I play the game for more than an hour at a time, it starts stuttering to the point where I can't even operate a vehicle without the game freezing up with each stutter. The bitch of it is, when the mini-freezes occur, the game doesn't crash to desktop like most other games would, it just keeps stuttering til I get too frustrated to continue. There a few other things about FC4 that I wasn't exactly crazy about, but this stuttering issue is definitely the most annoying. :(

Yeah, when Far Cry 4 last turned into a slideshow I exited to find I had <200MB of memory free, out of 8GB total. This must be the mysterious Power Point DLC everyone may or probably did not ask for.
Be warned, the 1.6 Christmas present patch they released on the 23rd (
http://www.shacknews.com/article/87602/report-far-cry-4-pc-patch-160-introduces-major-save-glitch-update) includes an unavoidable bug that will prevent you from saving if you're beyond Karma level 8. Reports are that a hotfix has already been applied. Nonetheless, you might want to wait a day or two before letting FC4 update in case the hotfix makes all honey badgers invulnerable or triggers your PSU's self destruct mechanism. Best to see what
extra added value they included in this latest patch. :cheeky:

I'm mildly excited to play this after finishing FC3. I've got it downloading to an external HDD over at my brother's house since he has unlimited bandwidth internet.
Benchmarks online say that it runs at a stable 30fps minimum on High/Ultra detail settings mix on a budget 750Ti. I'm running a i7-4790K and 16GB DDR3 RAM so there's no way the GPU would be bottlenecked.

I'm running 900p on a AMD Phenom II 965+, 8GB DDR3 SDRAM (upgraded from 4GB since my last post), a GTX 770 2GB, with the game installed on a HDD. All settings except one on Ultra, HBAO+, SMAA, Vsync and triple buffering forced through nvidia Control Panel (off in the game settings), and not using the DisableMipMap hack. I've got the Fur setting turned to "on" instead of nvidia's "simulated" since HairWorks causes framerate to plummet when there's more than a couple animals on screen on my machine. Framerate is smooth and stuttering usually doesn't start until I've been playing for at least an hour now, but much sooner if I die and have to reload. With 16GB ram, you should be able to play even longer without trouble.
Game is super fun when it actually works. Can't think of a game in recent memory where each patch seems to make the game worse, but.....Far Cry 4. :D
