Who's second? ;) :p
May I remind you of the rhyme "First the worst, second the best"
Well, that makes me the best.
And gives you a hairy chest

3 injuries already. My squad have clearly injured themselves whilst trying to mope around the pitch in 3 inch trainers. :(

Or they've been cutting themselves.
OH GOD, HOW WILL I SPEND £40k EVERY WEEK? WOE! WOE!

AFC Industrial Vole storm into the lead. Initially, injuries to Gerrard (null points, useless Scouser), Pistone and Carsley (spot the theme?), combined with the news that Cisse (this is the last time I include anyone from a Liverpool-based team) may be off to Marseilles seemed to have put a dent in the Vole's fortunes, but supersub Marcus Bent has put the ball in the back of the net, and the lad's got to be happy with that.

Balls, 3rd from bottom :erg: I blame an injury to Routledge and lacklustre displays from Thierry Henry and Shearer so far, plus Brad Friedel letting in 3 on the opening day of the season. Have made one transfer in the shape of Darren Bent, who's been scoring for fun in the first few games and should put a few past Charlton's opponents in coming weeks.

I feel like I'm doing pretty well for a team whose mighty midfield and spritely strikeforce have contributed a grand total of ONE SODDING GOAL in two weeks.
gg, guys!

Jeez! Time for some drastic pruning and rebuilding....and it's only week 2!!

For some reason, this year there seem to be a lot more participants. It's nearly impossible to access the site shortly after the matches end, and when you do manage to login, the site's awfully slow This didn't happen last year.
Paz on 21/8/2005 at 22:20
Yeah, it was painfully slow for me about an hour ago--and that was five hours after the weekend's final fixture. There are about 450,000 teams entered in it this time, I think? I've no idea if that's more or less than last time (probably more, I should imagine).
A possible explanation may be that they're still tinkering with the game engine, hence the message above the private leagues about 'you'll be able to look at opposition teams later this week' and stuff.

I think that last year there were around 300.000 teams.
