Actually, I got home in time to watch the second half, when Liverpool was already ahead. But Chelsea never came near of causing any upset (it was a bit pathetic watching them play with Essien and Ferreira as center-backs). I believe it's the first time that Liverpool has beaten Mourinho in the league, right?
I did watch the Arsenal vs. Man Utd match however, and celebrated Henry's goal, since I actually believed you when you said Liverpool would win and therefore decided that Henry would be my captain this week instead of Lampard. I still think that he should have been given the assist for Van Persie's goal though.

I'm shocked at how I've managed to climb from second off the bottom (14th) to 9th in the last couple of months! I do owe a fair amount to Ronaldo's excellent run of scoring as captain, but I'd like to think that paying more attention to my team has had an effect aswell!

My thanks to Offworld Vole for somehow managing to do worse than I did this week :D

"I'm sorry, friend, but there'll be no funeral": The Wigan's Magnificent Eight Week Twenty Five.Town full of egg-chasers, you're just a town full of egg-chasers. Ha ha ha!
Oh right, yes, the league.

Outside the summit, some fine performances by
Portreath, Ards and Fitter Happier (57, 57 and 58 respectively). However,
TCB FC - a winner is you (this week), with
65 points!
[edit] Let's also enjoy the amusing linguistic talents of Jose Mourinho:
Using an elaborate metaphor, Mourinho described the Chelsea squad as a blanket that was too small; tugged in different directions it never quite covered the bed.
Asked why he did not buy a bigger blanket, the coach said light-heartedly: "The supermarket is closed," and added he did not expect any last-minute signings before the transfer window shut at midnight.
"I am content because the blanket is cashmere, it is no ordinary blanket."

Again five injured/suspended players... plus, I completely forgot that there was a 'midweek gameweek', so I left Henry as my captain :(
I don't know what's so elaborated about Mourinho's metaphor :p

Agh, all four subs got used, pushing captain Arteta out of the squad. Even so, it ended up being one of my better weeks.

I foolishly trusted Anelka with the captaincy, which was ultimately about as useful as having no captain at all.

"Where have all the goals gone?": The It's Twenty Past Three And Every Game Is 0-0 Week Twenty Six.After 3:20pm a few people soon found their scoring feet again. Except Spurs, who couldn't manage to put one past the incredible skills of John O'Shea.
An average amount of goals in the end, then - and paired with a reasonable collection of clean sheets this resulted in a high-scoring week.

Stontium Dogma proving that you don't need god on your side to get
77 points.
Razzalls Rovers remain top with a lead of 9 slender points, leaving it all to play for!
(ps: This might be a good time to mention that any side found to have used Manchester United players to gain points will be disqualified and have their managers executed as traitors, due to a rule which I have just made up now. If you have Ronaldo you'll be executed twice, or something.)
Also, here is a link to some ace photography of football pitches: (

[edit] By the way, is anyone still in the "cup" (two teams from the whole competition are randomly paired and the one who gets most points that week goes through to the next round) - you can find it under the "latest points" header on your main team console thing. Apparently I went out in December :(

And I'd like to point out that the teams above me are going against the spirit of the game by having Cristiano Ronaldo in their team. It might be legal, but it's not right. It's the fantasy football equivalent of trading with apartheid-era South Africa. We need morality bonus points here!

That's all very well, but you've got the person responsible for Rio Ferdinand's World Cup Wind-ups!
