Finished it the other day. Main quest line was quite interesting, but short. If player chooses to follow only the main quest, it's possible to finish the game just in 5-10 hours I think.
I still continue to explore the world though, it's interesting and detailed, I saved before the point of no-returning, but now I've increased difficulty from hard to very hard, it became too easy with all my stats and equipment.
And strangely enough, unlike my previous marathon play-through, when I explored only about 30% of the marks for a month of playing and got only 8 or so bobbleheads, just in 2 days I explored about 20 or 25 areas, got 4 bobbleheads, as well as the best weapon in the game - "Avenger". Probably it so happened that previously I was exploring mostly the vast complexes like factories, museums, big settlements etc., while more than half of the marks were just simple areas like towers, power substations, small abandoned camps etc.
My final verdict is 7.9/10. One of the best RPGs I've played.
Could use more drama, kind of too pastel for my taste (like other Bethesda's games). Also, massive use of copy-paste was very aggravating, I would prefer lesser world with fewer instances of the same design.

But I thought you wanted to play MGS4 at some point. You... turncoat!? :weird:
I do want a PS3, though the instant MGS4 is announced for the 360 the PS3 will cease to exist.

As much as I love my ps3 and the games on it, I know that if MGS4 had gone 360 as well, alot of people wouldn`t have bought ps3`s.
That said its never going to 360. Kojima has stated that on multiple occassions to the 360 fanboys that keep hounding him to port it.

Isn't that what the director of RE4 kept on saying to the PS2/Xbox fanboys who kept hounding him for a port? Right up until the moment Capcom told him to fuck himself, they were in this for money?

I guess I'm out of the loop on this one, don't care too much about all this MGS4 malarkey. Heavy Rain, on the other hand, is looking pretty slick...

Oh well, generosity is a virtue.

If you're interested, I think you can find a mod on the F3 Nexus that allows you to keep on playing after finishing the main quest.

Fair point. That makes sense with the current price/released title ratio for the rest of the civilised world. I picked up the PS3 for one reason: the 360's going for only ~$50 USD lesser than the PS3 here, which is kind of ridiculous but there you go.
Of course MGS4 and Little Big Planet (and Blu-Ray) sweetened the deal considerably, plus there's all that potential awesomeness coming along, so I've no regrets.

Yup. Some of the screenshots look almost pre-rendered - like the closeup with the rainwater streaking down the girl's face. The graphics are looking loads better than the first E3 'Casting' demo, and that's no small achievement in itself.

The issue is that, as currently released, MGS4 uses about 60 GB of space - it would have to be on, like, 8 DVDs to be on 360 - and that amount of disc-swapping would be obnoxious. You could do the install-to-hard-drive thing, but most people don't have drives that big. They could compress it a ton, but then it would be significantly inferior to the PS3 version.

I've read that MGS4 needs to install every new chapter before its playable, including chapters that you've already played. That's quite ridiculous TBH.

Upgrade to the 120GB drive, problem solved.
