Agreed, it was quite nice, though I think I got bored of it rather fast. Now, if you want some truly epic music, check out the Age of Conan soundtrack. Can't recommend the game much, the music is superb!

Has anyone played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ? well i did recently , and if anyone played as well, then it should know that is a game that also consist in fallout zones with chaotich landscapes, where these enviroment are reforced with more expressivity with and excelent electronic dark ambient soundtrack, because for dangerous places we expect to hear a melody that evoke us something bad, right?
If you liked STALKER's soundtrack, you should check out (
http://www.infractionrecords.com/08%20blanket%20short%20edit.mp3) beatumn via (
http://www.infractionrecords.com/default.asp) Infraction Records. I can't press this label enough -- they specialize in a more... sophisticated style of the ambient music found in bleak games like STALKER and Fallout.

It's nicely mystical, Aja. Almost as my favourite (
www.darkwinter.com) stuff. Do Infraction have also more experimental stuff or just regular soundscapes?

Some of their albums certainly have experimental elements, depending on your definition, though their focus is decidedly drone-y. But see for yourself -- their website has an extensive set of sample mp3s under the "listen" section. My personal favourite is Tetsu Inoue's reissued album
World Reciever, which I don't hesitate to list among the best ambient albums ever recorded. Besides Inoue and Beautmn, check out Adam Pacione and Eluder.
But if you want more experimental, definitely check out (
http://www.12k.com/main.html) 12k. I spent hours last week poring through their samples, and ended up ordering seven or eight CDs (and I had to force myself to limit myself to that many!). I'm in the process of learning everything I can about ambient and experimental music, and these two labels are some of the best I've discovered so far (though I definitely have proclivities toward tone and texture over melody, and I've yet to scratch the surface of improvised music).

Within the darkwinter site wich Artist would you recomend?

That's difficult... try some of their compilations (f.e. this one (
http://www.darkwinter.com/special5.html) ) and judge for yourself. Some like Seetyca or Samsa are more harmonic and mysterious, while Slutmachine or Angelswing are more experimental and disturbing.

what does 'crowbaring' mean, fallout 3 is a fps rpg with an semi open world, specially if you dont follow the main path, and just wander around blowing things up, or apart.
