But you have to admite, Judith, that the problem were already presented before... Read that David's post I linked.
But David didn't say that you "must make this change", he said "To make doubly sure you
could change the line in Default.ini too."
All he meant was that if you were unsure, you could change it there too if you wished.
The 'user.ini' file over rides all the settings in the 'default.ini', so if this is only working when you type it into the default.ini, then there is something wrong with your 'user.ini' or your T3Ed setup. I would take Judith's word on this any day, he's a T3Ed guru.

Thanks for these kind words, NH, you flatter and overestimate me ;)
I believe it's worth mentioning that you can do some crazy things in your mission and it will run on other people's machines - e.g. when it comes to textures, matlibs, static meshes or scripts. Those things are "baked" within the IBT file and you don't have to include them in respective folders. You can mess with them a lot and still achieve some great results (e.g. one of my latest experiments - water flowing from the hole in the wall made with animated normalmaps :cheeky:)
Take any other resources and game's not that forgiving. Anything that is accessed dynamically by the game - all text & config files, sounds, conversations etc. - it must be done by the book, if you want other people to enjoy your mission.
And, thanks to all autors who put their works in the wiki, this "book" is a very solid thing.
Besides, MG, if you're a programmer then you should know how to perform bug research: you find an error, check what's wrong with particular subsystem, then check dependant subsystems, making bigger and bigger circles: from particular software to operating system, if necessary. You have a lot of problems with T3ed even with clean install, so I'm guessing the game itself isn't the problem.
I had many OS reinstalls through the years, and everything worked as usual - all I needed was a properly configured WinXp with SP2 & DX 9.0c

Okay....
Massi, I'd like you to try something for me.
Check your spelling.
That sounds a rather nasty and blunt, but it really does look like your problem with changing the user.ini is as simple as missing the (s) on the end of the [Conversations], at least according to what you listed below - which I assume you just copy/pasted over here.

LOL! It's real!!
This is the part I hate of the machines (at less, in the actually): for a tosh like this, the entire system doesn't work
Well, Ziemanskye had discovered the problem in one second.
If Judith are a T3Ed guru, then Ziemanskye are the absolute master of this, for he solves problems in a few time, without offending anyone.......

He
is a master of T3ed anyway :thumb:
Your problem is that you don't like to hear the truth in a straightforward manner, while I don't mince my words.
You claim not be chaotic, but this is another example that you are, lacking a diligence to a large extent. I mean, how can you be a good programmer if you overlook typos in the code so easily?
Obviously, forum is for helping each other and finding solutions, but I can almost assure you, that your way of doing things in T3ed is a dead end in a long run. The sooner you change it, the better for you and your mission. Refrain from "hacks" and weird ways of doing things, improve your English a bit and do most things by the book - and you
might successfully release your mission.
Otherwise you'll end up with frustration, as you will be the only one able to play it. While showing your FM to your close friends might be fun, but it isn't exactly a purpose of FM's, is it? ;)
massimilianogoi on 26/4/2008 at 10:05
My first FM will be ready between some minutes... My approach to the learning is not different from your.
You cannot wrongly inculpate me of "not reading carefully the tutorial" when I've just lost an "s" in the user.ini file, and other things that isn't real. This is not place for empty controversies, at least for me, so I will not reply to any other provocations.
Judith on 26/4/2008 at 10:20
You'll do as you wish, but any claim that your twisted ways in case of any problem, already described in the tutorials, might be useful to anyone will meet a necessary refutation. :)

(offering himself as a translator for the German version)
(maybe once the English version is proof-read, just to make sure everything's alright)

Beleg, (

You can dowload it here :thumb:
After that, send me your german translation and the eventually english correction, and I'll provide to upgrade it to a newer version.
Thanks in advance.
