I am trying to run system shock 2 with three monitors running at 5040x1050. After a clean install, copying from the disk and using the ss2tool, the opening movie will play, but it will promptly crash saying System Shock 2 has stopped working. If anyone has seen this before or has any suggestions, that would be great.
Thanks for the reply.

Does it work fine with just one monitor?

Jesus Christ.

That's 5040 total, not each. The individual monitor resolution would only be 1680x1050... quite reasonable.

Oh I know, it's still enormous though in total.
Wouldn't the picture be incredibly stretched?

I assume he'd be using the widescreen patch, which would keep the aspect ratio correct.
Having the UI spread across three monitors would kind of suck though.

Well, I installed it incorrectly the first time. I can now reach the menu but when I launch a new game, the screen remains black, but I hear sound. When I alt-tab I see the error : Your video hardware is not supported by System Shock 2. When I switch the resolution to 1680x1050, the game runs properly.
Thanks for the reply.

- Update you video card's driver
- If you have an NVidia card, go to your NVidia control panel, find the "Number of frames to render ahead" option and set it to 0
- Still not? In ddfix.ini under "[Main]" add the line "UseSysMemOverlay=2" (without quotes) This slows down the framerate but should get you running.

I am using the ATI Radeon HD 5770, with the latest drivers. I did not see any change after making the change to ddfix.ini.
Thanks for the reply.
