Fact is that a few players mentioned that my games lag at the beginning. :erg:
Well, as a bloody DromEd beginner I designed my first FM with big air brushes containing solid buildings which were undermined with air brushes again ... not elegant, so first I thought that might have caused these performance problems as well as the sky settings.
But since the 2nd FM, which I made in pure air brush technique without special sky, shows similar problems I don't know how to solve that problem. :confused:
To get things started I took the basemis.mis for both FMs and modified the gamesys file. Both FMs are strongly build with snapped brushes in a resolution not smaller than 12 units, mostly 13-14. The poly rate is - compared with other FMs - very low (max. 400 in the 2nd FM).
Any idea? A bug within a special Windows release (someone mentioned XP pack SP3)? Which TTLG-expert is able to trace a FM like this to find the reason? I can't since the FMs run properly on my good old Win98 system. :wot:
However, I would like to redesign FM #1, add a small bonus mission and put the missions together in a 'reloaded' version ... but it might be better to wait until this problem is solved ... :tsktsk:
