expelled from a guild? where to find bears? (possible spoilers)

so ........... if you read on, i take no responsibility for you possibly reading a spoiler you didn't want to hear.

i was playing along... i had travelled to cheydinhall to try to get my 1st fighter's guild quest... when i went there, i went inside an inn and somebody informed me that i had been expelled from the fighters guild for stealing from them. at first i was like wtf.... i don't remember stealing anything from them, i have tried to keep my stealing to a minimum anyway ...
so i went over to chorrol to see what i could do to fix the problem. the leader of the fighters guild says i need to collect 20 bear pelts...

!!! i haven't seen ANY bears yet in this game at all. where can i find some bears to kill?

Well, once you hit a certain level they appear all over the wilderness. Also, there is a creature called a Spriggan that spawns them. There are 2 types, Black(smaller and faster) and Brown(much bigger, slower, and more powerful),

It's a pretty non-spoiling spoiler, but I decided to move it nonetheless. I apologize.

Bears will show up around level 7 (black). A tougher version, the brown, appears at level 14.

You can also find bear pelts randomly, but it's probably not the best way to go about collecting them. You may also be able to buy the bear pelts, but I couldn't tell you who from.

dang... i've played 12 hours and i'm only on level 2

it takes FOREVER to level up in this game!

edit: guess i shouldn't have chosen both heavy and light armor as primary skills
