Expanding the inventory... - by Kunan

So... being that I am a complete packrat, I want to be able to carry and stash massive amounts of whatever stuff I can fit into my inventory.
Now, by default, the game doesn't let you get more than 3 tiers of inventory space, and this isn't good enough for me, no sir.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to expand the inventory much... I tried using arxpak to get at the backpack file, and allow more than two to be used, but no dice... the inventory doesn't get any bigger. There seems to be a cap somewhere else on the use of bags.
So, I thought, "Great, that's probably hardcoded. How can I get around it? Hey, how about carryable containers?" and I had backpacks run "INVENTORY CREATE" on init so that they would have an inventory.
Unfortunately, double-clicking them doesn't open their inventory - it just pulls up the combination cursor.
However... since I'm so awesome, I found a way around this. If you put the backpack on the ground, move the arrows on the inventory screen over it, go to the combination cursor, and double click on the arrow, it cancels the cursor, goes one page down in the inventory, and opens the backpack. I can even put stuff in it!
Of course, that is extremely awkward. It's arcane and esoteric, and stuff like that should be in the magic system, if anywhere.
So, has anyone tinkered with arx here? Have any idea how to make double-clicking on an inventory item pull up an inventory instead of going to the combination cursor? Have any idea how to pull up an object's inventory with a command? Arx seems pretty modifiable, but for the life of me, I can't find many resources on how to do things or what means what in it.

Why would you need more?
Can't get rid of the junk in your garage either?
