Try to see this from the proper perspective: Imagine you're a filmmaker. Imagine you've just completed a film about scuba diving. Now, regardless of whether or not your film turns out to be the best damn film about scuba diving in motion picture history, you're bound to get yourself on some people's bad side if you choose to name your scuba diving epic "A Clockwork Orange".

Makes perfect sense. Just call the protagonist Alex. And hey, didn't they have a scene in which some police thugs hold McDowell's head under water in Kubrick's film? There's your vague connection to scuba diving! DNA of the franchise, folks!:thumb:

Yeah, it's definitely not like they wanted to make a good game.
I wouldn't dream of even implying that. Sure they tried to make a good game. But from the looks of it, they failed. Miserably.
Feel free to point your fingers and laugh at me if the game should turn out to be great. Until then, the only thing I'm confident of is that this game will fail. Certainly on an artistic and more than likely on a financial level.

We'll be too busy playing the game at that point probably. And I'd only feel a little sad for you anyway, and for all those other people who never gave this game a fair chance because of some unrealistic expectations.

Still, if someone had told me 10 years ago, that they'd eventually release a Thief game that I would grow to hate with every fibre of my being, I would have called that crazy and far-fetched too.

A dismissive Family Guy meme. Congratulations. I'm waiting for your point.
something like whether or not to capitalize Thief is so trivial that its not even worth an argument.

Personally this will be the worst game ever unless it's exactly like the original theif but at the same time doesn't copy it all games need to be COMPLETELY ORIGINAL while not changing anything because if you change even one thing then the series sucks

Actually, I'm convinced they'll do just fine on a financial level. There's enough new gamers who don't know about the other games who will buy it thinking it's a brand new series, and the NuThief FB page has 112,000 fans - not all of them will buy the game of course, but most of them will; most of the people commenting on there seem ecstatic at everything that gets posted. Assuming the game costs $60, that's at least $6 million in sales right there.

Every NuThief video I have seen looks like there is severe mouselook smoothing or something similar in place. The mouselook never moves very fast and precise like the first game. Sometimes, like with leaning, I can almost tell that the slow mouselook is due to scripted vision, but when moving through the game normally, the mouselook doesnt seem very fast or quick and crisp. Who told EM that the original Thief had no action and was a slow moving game? It wasnt. You wanted to play slowly and cautiously at times, but the physics in the game were very fast, and again, crisp. Oh yeah, there is no mouselook anymore, my bad.
The videos are probably all showing the game being played with a controller.
