The 3rd person bits were a conscious decision by the devs. They wanted us to be able to see Jensen and what he did. Those takedowns would not have the same effect in 1st person, and would probably just look dumb. Jensen is a character that we help develop when we play through the game, we aren't supposed to just inhabit his shoes. It's supposed to help remind us of that.
I don't understand why there is so much hate over the 3PP, in ANY game.
