I bought the DVD with DE:IW yesterday, and I haven't had the time to install it yet. I was just wondering if anyone else has done it, and whether there seem to be any improvements over the US release.
I applaud the decision that they put the game on a DVD instead on a pile of CDs. However, I don't understand why the game still has to fully reside on the harddrive, requiring, as the box states, 2 gigs of the harddrive space. Sure, the disk space is cheap these days, but if we have this big optical medium, why not give a player a choice of how much to leave on the DVD? If the game was also released for the XBox, they could have done that on PC as well, right?

The box lies - actually, it's 3 gigs. Didn't have time to play for more than a few minutes and haven't noticed any major changes. The 1.2 patch is applied and the game runs perfectly (AthlonXP 1700, GeForceFX 5900, 512 MB RAM, latest forceware - 1024x768 with bloom, w/o antialiasing).

I dislike DVDs for games as they give the shops an excuse to up the price by a fiver.

Really? They are the same price round here! GAME is still charging an extortionate £34.99 for new releases while Virgin Megastore charges £29.99 (plus collect 3 receipts for three new games and get your fourth for free) although I get games from Play.com mostly. £17.99 for early pre-orders lately! :o

Far Cry 4xCD and 1xDVD versions are same price here in Oz.
