I'm on a well earned vacation in Spain at present, hotel is lovely but the patchy WiFi is driving me fucking spare!
Anyway I missed the Belgium ass kicking, I have an Oirish bar sourced for the Italy game tomorrow. I cannot see this ending well but the Sangria is pretty cheap at this fine establishment, I can drown me sorrows without breaking the budget!
Well done Northern Ireland btw! Hope they can progress further. Congrats to Wales and England too.
Good luck Ireland!

they had plenty of chances to score, but the Slovakian keeper and their defenders pulled off some heroic saves, and England were just a bit unlucky
That's rather generous! In our household, England were their usual rubbish finishers but they did show some kind of oomph for a change. Well done Wales, though.

Hodgson is a genius at managing expectations. He seems to have convinced the world that England's players are shit, which is why he bizarrely escapes any criticism despite managing England to a worst ever World Cup performance and failing to beat rubbish like Slovakia, Russia and Costa Rica.

And thanks to Turkey's win over the Czech Republic, Norn Iron are through to the knockout stage! Apparently we will be up against either Wales or France; we'll take them both on! :D

Fantastic. The Norn Irn fans have been exemplary in Lyon compared with the English ones.

Well, they haven't been attacked by French gangs or Russian thugs, have they.

Fantastic for Northern Ireland, well done.
This is why I love football! A well deserved place in the last 16, I can only hope Rep of Ireland play with the same passion against Itay.

That refers to the conflict in Marseille only. I'm talking about Lyon, where the England fans have been a disgrace.

Good luck to Republic of Ireland and Iceland.
I may think of Ronaldo as a petulant brat but I do rather like what he did (

England fans ambushed by 'Lyon Ultras' at Euro 201620 JUNE 2016 • 10:21AM
England fans were ambushed by a group of local "Lyon Ultras" who threw bottles and vandalised a bar during the latest skirmishes at Euro 2016.
Eyewitness said a known group of 30 local hooligans dressed in black with red crosses on their arms stormed a square attempting to provoke supporters into a mass brawl.
Around 100 supporters were taunted by louts who threw bottles and chairs before police intervened.
A barman at the Wallace pub, which was forced to close after the trouble, said: "It was locals, they are known around here for it."
England fans disgracefully letting themselves be attacked by locals again.
