ESCS: Marking Problems - by Christy K.

I've used the Dragonsong tutorial on modeling and scripting to make my first room in Vivice, but I am having a tough time with something (two somethings that might be related??) I hope it's obvious to others:
1. When I added the Northmarker to my room, it never showed the white arrow. The Northmarker is on the object list, it shows being selected, but doesn't show on the render screen. I began decorating anyway.
2. In Vivce, copied a whole cell, rotated it, and made the 3 way to a 4 way in the Foreign Quarters Canalworks. I programmed the door to go to My First Room and saw the pink/purple arrow, but didn't see my room in the gray void. The contents of the room show up in the object window, but do not show in the grey of my render screen. Double-clicking on an object does not help for the purpose of this marking.
BTW: I was able to program the door from My First Room to Vivice with no problem, I saw the pink arrow in Vivce just fine. That's why I'm wondering if this is a setting issue somewhere in my menus or on my screen. Also, I am using the regular Morrowing: ESCS III program w/o Tribunal or Bloodmoon.
I tested my room of course, I entered it from Vivce, it showed the room in the map--but all I saw was black. I turned around, saw a flash of my room, fell into black nothingness and died while falling. Then I was prompted mid-fall to reload my last game.
So, the problem is in not lining up my arrow to My First Room through the door, but, again, I can't see the room and the arrow together to line it all up.
Been there done that? Suggestions?

It has been awhile since I made a teleport door, but I seem to recall that the (pink) door marker is automatically placed near the door in question. If it not (or if you inadvertently moved it), it may be outside of the walls of your interior space so it teleports the player into the void. With your mod loaded in the construction set, double click on the door marker in your cell. If it is in the middle of nowhere there’s your answer. Move it to be pointing away from the door and into the room’ interior.

Its been awhile so I could be mistaken
There is an option to show markers, make sure thats checked
also when you drop in north marker, click on it in the list and it should tell you the xyz coordinants...it may be well out of your current view
as for the dissapearing room, there are so many weired things that can go on,I have no real clue, sorry

Oh! Anyone know where this option is? I'll look of course, but may need some direction if it isn't somewhere that makes sense. Thanks!

The option is located under the ‘View’ drop-down menu–you toggle the markers on and off. The key ‘M’ will also accomplish the same (when the Render Window is active). I suspect the latter is how it got toggled off by accident.

Ah, you're right. I once hit 'control c' when nothing was selected and my entire room disappeared. I hit every key to make it come back--and it didn't until I reloaded. Anyway, I've since ditched the room and made another. This one was simple to create and actually works. Guess it was an unfortunate first attempt. Thanks!
