Error: Direct3d device driver does not accurately report texture memory usage.
Contact your 3d accelerator vendor for updated drivers.
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 Video Card (driver version 6.14.11.628, driver date 6.29.2007)running on XP Home, One GIG Ram with Service pack 3 installed. I am using Garrettloader 1.4.0.171. This problem happens with all the missions.
I have since moved my game to my faster computer because my spare computer keeps freezing for some unknown reason which I am trying to correct, it will take a while to figure out.
I find it odd that this happens with this system since I have Thief 3 installed and am playing Thief 3 missions with no problems. Should I Look for an updated driver or is there a way to correct or fix this without the updated drivers?
advice appreciated, thanks

This problem is addressed in the FAQ thread in the Legacy tech support forum.
And what is so odd about T3 working? Keep in mind T1 and T2 were not designed for modern systems, naturally they will start acting funny on systems 10 years younger than the games.

The problem is that it worked before with this same driver and it never gave me a problem, it seems when I move from computer to computer because of other problems, new ones seem to arise.
For me, this is a first that it has ever told me I have a Direct3d Device Driver Error, which in turn, should have given me the same excact problem with Thief 3 FMs, but it does not. I still find it odd that is did work with this updated driver that I do have currently on my system now as I have had two years ago.
I am wondering if it could be related to the Add on packs I have installed.
Can this be moved over to the Legacy Tech Support Forum? Or should I start a new thread?

Did you try the safe_texture_manager trick, or DDfix? The former works over 95% of the time.

Instructions are in the FAQ in the Thief General forum, or Legacy Gaming:
(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031#texturememory)
Instructions for DDFix are in Legacy Gaming. Even if the game functions perfectly well, DDFix might still improve the smoothness of the textures. If, for example, the clouds only seem to have two or three shades of their colour, with very clear boundaries between them, DDFix will make them look nicer.

OK, thanks for all the advice and help, I shall try this once I get home and see if it fixes my problem.
The only reason I find this odd is because I never downgraded or upgraded the device driver for my video card, it did work however with all my T2 FMs without a problem like this 2 or so years ago with the same driver, which never gave me that problem, so hence, IMO I think it may have been the add ons I installed.
Next time I will check the Legacy Forum more carefully, which is why I was not sure to post it there.
But thanks again.
