I thought that would have been a given ;)
We do not advertise the fact that we are looking for moderators for a forum, we tend to draw up a shortlist and ask those members privately if they would like to be a moderator. If they accept then they get the job.

It's a complicated selection process based on observed behaviour and character judgements known as Behaviour Investigation Affirmed Selection. Or 'bias' as it's commonly known.

There is no set method as it happens so infrequently. I was the last admin recruited in the summer of 2003 to replace Rich who left as he had a very busy life.
Before that I was a moderator of the System Shock forums for over two years, I had also run one of TTLG's daughter sites for two and a half years and done a bunch of mini-sites and scripting for the network.
Neither GBM or I have any plans on going anywhere, so there won't be a spot open any time soon ;)

Well, I'm not really hyped about being an Administrator, but it'd be nice to control an area of discussion and opinions.

See, you want it cause of the status. You don't just get a job because you like the title, it doesn't work like that in real-life either. :)

I wouldn't mind being Adminstrator anyway, I live online.
P.S.- Just so as long as I'm in charge of the Thief parts of the forum, that is. It's the only section I actually know what's going on.
