About time !!
Been waiting for this for so long now, as am a huge fan of the books.
Anyone else actually give two shits about this or is it just me ?

liked the books, im interested to see what the movie is like. I'm somewhat skeptical about how good it will be, but it does have jeremy irons which is always a good thing.

Yeah a few of the other people I've spoken to have raised concern that perhaps the film may notlive up to the books.
Dont supose you know a release date for the third one 'Empire' by any chance ?

The book was solid, but average at best. There was so much clichee stuff happening it made me sick sometimes, and some sections where dull and lengthy. The first book is almost a 1:1 reproduct of Star Wars.
So, no, I'm not really looking forward to the movie.

Yeah, it's really hard to spot:
- Adopted youth is relvealed to be the chosen one
- Real parents are somebody important
- Sagely old mentor who retired somewhere, but is in truth a kick ass warrior of the "good" faction
- House of family is found burned down whilst visiting sagely mentor
- Sagely old mentor trains the hero whilst evading the "bad" faction
- Rebellion is joined after dramatic death of sagely mentor
- New companion is a rouge with a good heart

'Rogue' and 'Rouge' actually mean different things.
(and of course he's a fucking Star Wars fan. It's not as if this movie is drawing inspiration from Fassbinder's early catalogue)
