how come my img. code is off on here, i have a banner from GU that i want to use.. but the img. code is shut off, and i cannot turn it back on? i do not see a Graphics fourm so i thought i would post it where all the cool people are.:cool:

Have a look at the Edit Options page in the user control panel, that has a control for the IMG tag. Note that you can't use IMG in your sig - this forum (thankfully) doesn't allow graphics in signatures.

Because images in signatures suck, and can often make a forum an eyesore to look at. You'll have to do without an image in your signature. I'm sure you'll manage.
By the way, non-Thief-related topics usually belong over in CommChat. Forum-related matters (such as signatures) and site-related matters belong in the TTLG Website Network forum.
And by the way, directlinking images off a website that isn't yours (like you would've done if the images in your sig worked) is generally quite rude, unless you have permission.

Signatures in images, (a.k.a. images in signatures :p ) do suck.
Over at the Ion Storm forum, the signatures take up more space than the posts themseleves.

And when the server hosting your signature image goes offline for maintenance, it slows down the forum and makes your signature look poopy.

Windhawk, you have my sympathy.
You post a perfectly polite and reasonable query (considering that many forums DO allow banners) and you get snarled at.
Don't give up on ttlg, though. You could play Morrowind and come and join the nice, relaxed (but still bannerless- thankfully!) crowd over at the ttlg Morrowind forums.

That's somewhere between 3 and 30 seconds depending on how much other stuff I'm doing. Now if everyone had one, 25 posts per page, 25 34k images is 850k, that's nearly a minute, and about 3 minutes for people on 56k.
Aside from that they make a page look inconsistent and messy.
still, that's quite a nice pic :)
