To be fair, that is the only criticism he voices in that huge two-line interview, and even then it's more of a comment than a criticism. Additionally, he is referring to a third-person mode rather than the enforced third-person sections in first-person mode. So ... yeah.

Nowgamer also has the team's response to Spector's comment, by the way. Basically the same explanation as what they've given in the past, but still.

http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3180952) THere's a new preview from Gamescom at 1up. Sounds like a completely different part of the game than the E3 preview and new gameplay trailer. It also sounds really good.
I do like the sound of this. Of particular interest to me was the mention of carrying a guard with you to bypass the laser alarms - I just think that's a nice little touch. :thumb:

splinter cell ?
anyways, it DOES sound better. I just can't stand the perspective switch after seeing a 20min demo, how can I stand it 10 hours long....

I like how Anfossi mentions "allowing" the player to go into tpp, because it's not being shoved down our throats, no siree, we're
allowed to involuntarily switch to tpp every five seconds.

“When we replayed the first two games we noticed that the augmentations are the stars of the show..."
"We decided it would be nice to allow the player, when he decides to upgrade his character for takedowns or punching through walls, to show him that happening on screen making it more spectacular and giving him a reward. From that point we were able to introduce the cover system too.”

I'm not sure I get the artistic direction of the game. When I heard in the trailer things like "I never asked for this" or "I never had a choice of what happened to me", maybe because of the overall dark atmosphere, as well as a few comments I read before, I kind of assumed that augmentations were more or less a necessary evil. But on the other hand, it looks like the game is clearly presenting augmentations as "cool" and as a "reward" to the player. Which is the correct interpretation?

Reward for the player, yes - but from what I've read, in the setting these clearly visible augs make you the target of anti-aug hatred and activism.

One is for target audience, other is for gaming journalismos.

For someone who likes to post as much as you do, you can be pretty damn dense. The "reward" they keep mentioning is the "cool" third-person non-interactive takedown sequences.
