Environmental resistance is great! On highest level, it makes you invulnerable to poisoned crossbow darts, radiation,
greasels, grays
. Also due to my method of play I only ever bother using three augs: regeneration, resistance and speed. I'm going to try it without resistance again next time through the game.

AHHHH:idea: I see, said the blind man. Enviromental resistance IS a good thing...

Fast Run/Jump (Very Useful) - 4, you can get to areas not ment to be accesed, sneak up on guards from behind :joke:
Balistic Armor (Useful) - 1 to 4, this plus Fast Run/Jump can REALLY help when Simons tells the soldiers to kill you

Microfibral Muscle (Kind of Useful) - 1 to 2, pick up heavy things
Power Rescirculator (Ultra Useful) - 2 to 4, really useful when combined with energy sapping augs like Fast Run/Jump and/or Regeneration

Lots of people don't understand the benefit of this skill. In the UC-mod for DX (A good Mod, increases the replayability of DX) it was completely taken out. This irritated me. Since I usually play DX Non-Lethal I use Gas grenades. With just one click so that I am trained in environmental i decrease the damage i take from Tranq-Darts, and Gas Grenades. Also when you are drowning i think it takes less life too. If you don't believe me try this: On the first level of DX, get a gas grenade and set it off. without environmental training. and stand it. (you will die btw) now get trained in Environmental and do the same thing. The difference is you live! and you only have 30 or so off of body. Also get shot by a Tranq-dart with and without environmental training and see the difference. its quite substancial. I haven't bothered to train any higher in that area but when i cheated all the way to master. The difference was negligable. So one click in Environmental is Useful.

I'm confused. Are you talking about the skill Environmental Training (ET skill) that let's you use Hazmat Suits, Ballistic Armor, Thermoptic Camo, and Rebreathers more efficiently? Or, the augmentation Environmental Resistance (ER aug) which reduces damage from poisons and radiation when activated?
Hadn't noticed that the ET skill reduces damage from tranq darts and gas. I'll have to try that sometime. Hardly matters - never get hit by tranq darts and almost never get into gas unprotected anyway.

I'm referring to the skill. It helps with tranq darts and everything. its SUPPOSED to help with Hazmat suits and armor. But it seems minimal to me... Oh well. I only get trained in it anyways. it only cost like 600skill points. I can do it on the first level...
On the first level, i am
Trained in Pistols.
Trained in Computers.
Advanced in Low-tech
Trained in environemtal
Trained in Medicine.
hmm. yeah i thinks thats it.
Anyway i'm playing DX with the UC-Mod. I'm in Hong-Kong right. and man i hate that level... Haven't even gotten to versa-life yet...
So far so good. The AI seems better... maybe its just me... Also i can have all my mods on all the time. (they only drain energy when they are needed.) Its really good. I HIGHLY recommend it.
Besides it'll help hold you over until DX2 comes out... well at least a little bit...

They all last much longer and less damage gets through the Hazmat and Armor. Except for checking it out I don't normally train this skill at all. At master level rebreathers last a _long_ time. Trained in environemtal Trained in Medicine.I don't bother training Medicine ever. I find more medkits than I can use and I dump them all when I get Regeneration level 2 anyway. Getting trained in Computers is good at the start - if you wait you'll miss some interesting emails in Unatco. The x-bow with the laser sight hits quite nicely without any training. So I don't train pistol at all except for role-playing. My favorite style starts out with advanced Rifle and trained Low-Tech. Computer gets trained when I get back from the Statue. Nothing else until Rifle is mastered.
