i got my enchant skill 2 70 so far but does anyone know how high it needs to be to actually get a constant effect fortify int 30 to actually work

Are you asking me how high your enchant skill has to be to succesfully make a constant effect item?
Well if you are then you still have a long way to go. Put it this way people who have a enchant skill of 100 would be lucky to make any constant effect item.

I dont understand why people even bother with the skill. I consider it useless to spend all your money raising the skill when you can just go to a mage and have an item enchanted with no risk of failure. Sure it costs money, but getting loads of cash in morrowind is way too easy to worry about it.

Well, if you can get your int high enough via abusing alchemy (ie: custom intelligence potions) then you can enchant just fine.

It's been discussed to death.. to be brief, get/make a bunch of fortify intelligence potions and drink them all; while under the influence, make a whole bunch more, which should have a cumulative int bonus which is slightly higher. Drink those, make even better ones, shake, rinse, repeat. It's also possible to bolster your efforts with one or more low-duration, high-effect enchantments/spells that does a fortify int. not that i have been working on it long but i got to the point of 1700 int per bottle and i got tons of bottles

But why waste your time doing all that? It just seems easier to spend the money. Arent you hauling around 2 million cash like everyone else?
