We know about it and are looking into it. Something funky is going on with the database.

The same thing causing "No thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster" messages probably.
David, when you guys upgrade to vB 3, is it going to use the existing database or will it just import the tables?

Ah, ok, I thought my pc has gone weird :).
Wuggy, I haven't noticed the problem you are mentioning. When does it happen?

I believe the empty threads (made within a minute of eachother, by the same user) were entered in while I was trying to de-bug something else (with the forums still running) and that's why they went wonky.
The "No thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster" thing happens periodically when the threads/posts automatic update-thingy hasn't kicked in properly, or it's in the queue.
Anywho... I did some major gremlin search and destry this afternoon, so hopefully things will be as they should be (at least for a few hours). ;)

I don't know if it's related, but last night (a bit more than twelve hours ago, I think) I got a "CGI Timeout" message when replying to this thread. I don't recall the exact message, but it was something about exceeding the amount of processing time allowed, and that the server had deleted the process. The post did show up, but it didn't affect the "Last Post" columns in either the TEG forum or the main index, nor did the thread move to the top of the forum. It did appear when searching for my own posts.

The CGI timeout issue has been known for quite awhile now, and it seems nobody can figure out whats causing it or how to fix it! When you got the message, enough had happened so that your post was uploaded, but not enough to update the 'last post' table data.
mopgoblin on 30/4/2004 at 04:04
No, that's not the one - I get a few of the "CGI Error"s per day, while I don't think I've seen the timeout before. Not when posting, anyway. I think it was quite similar, though. And I am certain that something very similar to "The server has deleted the process" was in there somewhere.

Ataricom, yes, thats the one.
Mopgoblin I don't think I've seen what you're talking about. Take a screenshot next time.
