The tests don't account very well for people who have an intense interest in a narrow range of subjects. I don't give a damn about cars, but I can spend hours studying the minutiae of some topics I stumble across.
I think the length of the tests is actually a mark in their favour. If you're trying to measure something with any amount of accuracy, you need a fairly large number of questions to prevent individual responses from throwing things off too much. It's longer than the typical sort of test you see on the internet, but that's because it's meant to be more precise. There are quite a few problems with the test, but length isn't one of them.

Also, when I look at these questions, it says for example 'stereo,' and I think 'mp3 player' or when it says 'wireless communications' I think 'intarnet.' So I guess I didn't answer these questions in all too anal-retentive a manner.

If I was trying to "game it" I would have chosen "strongly agree/disagree" for every answer, but I did "slightly agree/disagree" a number of times where I felt it appropriate. I don't believe 0 is the lowest score you can get. I admit that I did try to get through the test quickly and might have put "strongly" for some answers that I might otherwise have put "slightly" if I had given more thought to it.
