Enchantermon, I wouldn't say I had guts or went far. After all, I only tried to friend her on Facebook and sent her an e-mail.
Well, I was thinking more about the part where you approached her in Borders. I wouldn't have made it that far.
But it's good that you're not depressed about it. Melancholy will pass, and can be healthy at times, too.

I used to be really into Led Zeppelin when I was a teenager, but now when I listen to em I think it sounds a bit like shit on a stick, funny how that stuff goes eh?
also if a girl is interested in you, she'll let you know.

Well, Piglick, bear in mind that I have slightly more experience flirting with guys than I do with girls.
Fafhrd, that time I did talk to her it was kind of a spontaneous decision on my part and I didn't really plan ahead, which is weird for me. But seeing as she had mentioned Rollins and Black Flag so often to me (the last time of which had been about 10 months prior to this meeting I speak of, so it hadn't yet been a whole year), it seemed like a good icebreaker to me at the time.
Weird, when I knew her I seem to recall she was really into poetry and experimental writing and all that. So it kind of surprises me now to see that she seems to spend a lot of her time writing profiles of local businesses. But I guess everyone needs to make money somehow, and at least she got out of the retail bookselling business... wish I could say the same!

Damn, I love that movie. Off-kilter but heartwarming. Jim Carrey can act! Who'd'a thunk?
Sypha, grow a goddamn pair and just tell her what you feel. Use
some subtlety, but don't hem and haw. I wouldn't have sent that 'candid review' if I were in your position, but it's too late to cry over spilt nail gloss (haw).
Just tell her, and at least then you'll know you tried. This may be bad advice, but I've always been an advocate of slamming through brick walls.

TBE = Taffer_Boy_Elvis just in case you forgot who I am.
So let me get this straight, you'd be straight sexual orientation for the ideal girl you knew in college? But now since she's not really your type, now what??!?
Yeah, anyway, I found with girls, you just need to say what you mean. It's hard, I know. But just say it outright. "Hey, I really think you're cool, and I'm interested in taking you on a date to get to know you better." Something, anything, is better than no effort.
I've been wondering what's been new with you JR. Hit me up.

Sypha, did you ever consider joining a book group? That sort of thing is made for literate, introverted weirdoes like you (I honestly mean that in the nicest way).
Welcome back anyway

Just summed up Facebook beautifully.
...and the fuckers made millions on vapidity!

Muzman, amusing but, ugh, I HATED that movie. Whenever my friends that I don't like it, they usually think I'm crazy or something.
