Only cuse she listens to her own stuff, which she is too embarrassed to share with you, huh? What do you wanna bet! Catch her in the car sometime.....uhuh.
At least you have the balls, which you do, to share.
Nah - she listens to a lot of old country and new Metallica, but mostly mainstream stuff. I can't catch her out.

New Metallica fett? oh god......I'm sorry. Give me their older stuff personally.
Beatles kick ass, I like listening to their *off* stuff, the stuff you NEVER ever hear on the radio. I am burned out on *Hey Jude, and a few others.

Off tangent there is a communal concrete storm shelter here that has such an excellent reverb that a certain tone of gregorian hum sets off a sustained vibration you feel in your bones. It tickles.
That sounds pretty cool. I'd love to try it. :thumb:

Yeah, it's tragic. She'll get in my care and I'll have Master of Puppets wailing...."Who's this?" she'll ask.
The best Beatles songs are the ones that weren't released as singles (as usual) - all the B-sides, album cuts on Revolver and Peppers, and the whole Magical Mystery Album. Also the Help! stuff that wasn't really featured in the movie.

Being the youngest of 7, I was subjected, I mean introduced to all KINDS of music. When my oldest brother moved out, he left his original Beatles White album, I loved that album.
He came back one time after he moved away, he took his album back! God damnit I was pissed he took it back. Bastard.

When talking to friends in fandom, I'm not embarassed by any of my musical tastes...
When discussing music w/ mundanes, one of the sure-fire things to mention that gets funny looks is my Weird Al Yankovic collection.

Unfortunately, part of me quite enjoys a ridiculous Jim Steinman epic ballad, a la Meatloaf or Total Eclipse of the Heart. The production on them, the absurd totality of the arrangement, the heavy handed cheesiness of the lyrics. It's awful but it's all done so awfully well.
Also people occasionally balk somewhat at Cat Stevens but come on, the man has a great voice and some great songs.

plus the video for total eclipse of the heart is totally brilliant.

BTW why is Auf der Maur embarrassing? far as I can see she's fairly credible.
Because lots of guitar music fans (I hate to call them rockers but you know who I mean) rate it as commercial trash.
And Chimpy - Wumpscut is embarrassing because anyone I get to listen either goes "nah, it's too bonkers" or "this is rubbish" or "w.t.f. ARE you listening to these days?".
Used to be that my friends and I liked some similar stuff. Nowadays the only musics similarities we have is the older stuff we shared back in the day. I find the new indie stuff lots of my mates like dull sub-standard rehashes of the older greats (although of course there are many gems) and they tend to find my more offbeat stuff (
just like Wumpscut) too odd.
Oh, and I like a lot of country too. It's relaxing.
