Is Renz' still hysterically all-capping and shooting himself in the foot every time? Zombification at it's loudest. Camping out on the sidewalk to grab a flash in the pan product with a legacy of suckage to outweigh the fun, but mocking the protesters across the street who want more of what's different they were promised, not the same old shit.

I went from finding you annoying to realising you were just a guy who is into something to feeling bad about being an asshole to to now just loathing you.
You're an incredible bore with nothing to say and no real stance but waaaah waaah. If you weren't so butthurt about your own existence you might be able to actually engage in a proper discussion, be able to answer your questioners.
But as it stands you're just a beacon for the nuts. Lord help us if you get your shit together and actually organise something with power.

There are tons of things I don't like in this gameplay video, but I'm open minded and I'll nitpick where it's needed. Moaning about the game over screen is just pathetic.
I don't like the third person stuff, I don't like the tags over the guards, I don't like the pickpocket timer, I don't like the bow reticle. The guards seemed very poor at fighting and there wasn't any real stealth in this. And if Focus is necessary I'll be pretty pissed off.

I'd just like to point out that, outside of the little closeted bubble here, the reaction has been universally negative. Reddit, SA, NeoGaf, etc are all ripping this POS a new butthole. I know it's hip to be all counter to mainstream, maaaaaan, but Eidos really don screwed it up to the point where this isn't even recognizable as a Thief game. The AI is also clearly broken. You guys need to take the happy filters off and look at this objectively.

Absolutely. Which makes pointing fingers at some purists / elitists as if they were backwards cavemen a bit silly. Most forum-goers I've seen, including gamers who never played Thief, find the AI behaviour and elements of the demo (combat and takedowns, permanent hugging hands, XP, indicators and GUI, lack of contrast) out of place.

You are absolutely right, people unanimously disliked what they saw in the trailer. I have not checked Twitter but their FB page has fans expressing their dislike, myself included.

Want an example? Captain Spandex talking about the broken sound propagation system. How does anyone know that's been broken or dumbed down? We've seen literally zero evidence of it at all. It won't be shown off in the trailers, and the gameplay demo has the sound nearly muted so whatshisface can talk over it. It isn't a legitimate complain. All it is is a checkpoint someone can add on a big list alongside a bunch of other assumed crap so they can scream about how they don't understand the "real fans".

To be fair though, I think most people are responding to what they see on-screen. The argument before yesterday was "don't judge anything until we see some gameplay." Well, now we have, and I'd say 99% of the criticism here is based on details from that video.

Pretty disappointing really. Even given low expectations. I suppose you've got to allow a bit of grace for the video cutting back and forth and maybe not being the best way to show the game off, but the only bit I thought was well done was the 3rd person take-down ~ which is probably subtle enough to live with.
Everything else was just kinda 'oh dear'.
Maybe there'll be a better vid later.
