He's like a brand new character, he doesn't look nor sound like the good old garrett so far.
I think this sums it up best for me. I never got the impression I was actually watching and listening to Garrett in that trailer. The guy may be an OK voice actor, and maybe he's being fed an awful script to read, but it just doesn't do it for me. Do you think anyone with audio only would think this is Garrett before he announces it? I doubt it.
That said, EM is trying completely re-define Garrett and Thief, so let's not assume this new guy is supposed to sound like SR or the old Garrett at all anyway.
All that aside - the trailer is pretty boring. Is that really the supposed to get anyone excited for the new game? The first one was much better.

It's only a short cinematic trailer, so one shouldn't put too much importance on it, but the thing that irks me in it is the quality of scripwriting as I mentioned before (might go under the fact that it's just a short trailer, as in not their biggest concern at the moment) and specifically the fact that Garrett is talking directly to the audience/player. Sure, that's common in trailers, but somehow it annoys me here. It's like "Hey, did you miss me, your favourite video game character?".
Not sure, if I'm being clear, but it annoys me nonetheless. It's just a small thing though.
It's as if they assume people have accepted the new character already.
Trickle-down arrogance?

The script wasn't great.
But the voice acting was much better in this one than in the last. In the first trailer there was one word (I think it was "possibilities") that was just awful.
This time he sounds pretty good. Its not SR, its not a good impersonation of SR, but it does have some qualities of SRs work and that impresses me somewhat. I just don't think this guy can consistently pull it off, unfortunately - the best bits of his A game would do nicely.
Oh, the music in this one was pretty damn good and worked well for Thief overall imho.

Trailer is nice enough. But nothing that says to me 'Look, we're doing some smart and interesting things with Thief.'

"Every rivet and stitch...let's me find what I most desire"
Who the hell is writing this shit?
:(

"Did you miss me?" .. sounds like a stab at those who signed the petition.

I thought the script sounded a bit self-concscious. No really, I _am_ Garrett. No really, all these rivets and stitches on my costume _do_ have a point. I almost expected a line like, "My bow...lets me get into the smallest places."

This may be premature, but I've kinda taken to treating this game like someone's badly written AU fanfiction. Idk, it makes the process easier.

Lynch me if you want, but I think the new voice actor does a good job.
No one's said he's dong a bad
job, he's just not Garrett at all. This isn't about the quality of the work but the appropriateness, the point of it in light of the line of bull they are selling us. Not liking EM's choices has nothing to do with Romano. But we'll be saying this for the rest of our lives, 'cause people don't listen, only make up reasons.

The thing that irked me most about that trailer was the "Did you miss me?" line. That really seemed like EM rubbing the fanbase's nose in EM's crap.
